What is a Kenshin figure?
It's a small toy often made of PVC or resin allowing big anime fans to easily dive into the world of anime from the land of the rising sun and to admire his favorite characters in great detail. Anime figures are not reserved to a particular category of people or age. They are collected for various reasons. For high-level collectors, the figures serve as a source of inspiration to create a new story. Others buy them in large quantities to display in a window or in their original boxes as decorative gems. Older people are also concerned by the collection of anime figures. For them, accumulating these small characters in statuette is a way to cultivate the memory.
History of the anime Rurouni Kenshin:
The story begins in the 11th year of the Meiji era in Japan (1878) and follows a former assassin of the Bakumatsu, known as Hitokiri Battosai . After his work against the bakufu, Hitokiri Battosai disappears to become Himura Kenshin: a wandering swordsman who protects the Japanese people with the vow to never take another life.
Rurouni Kenshin, sometimes also known as Samurai X in the dub, is a Japanese anime franchise written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsukit revolving around the themes of atonement, peace and romance. The anime was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from April 1994 to September 1999. The complete work consists of 28 tankōbon volumes, while years later it was reprinted in 22 kanzenban volumes and 15 omnibus volumes. The anime, along with the first light novel and the first guidebook, received a full North American release by Viz Media. Rurouni Kenshin is subtitled "Wandering Samurai" in some English versions. The Rurouni Kenshin anime has over 72 million copies in circulation in 2019, making it one of the best-selling anime series. The series has received praise from various publications for anime and other media, both of which have received a good response on the character designs and historical setting.
Watsuki wrote the series about his desire to create a shōnen anime different from others published at the time, with Kenshin being a former assassin and the story taking on a more serious tone as it continued.
