Jojo's anime summary:

First continuity

The first continuity follows an intergenerational feud between the Joestar family and various forces of evil, the most prominent of which is Dio Brando and his followers.

The first three parts constitute a trilogy after which Hirohiko Araki intended to end, but JoJo's Bizarre Adventure nonetheless continued after the end of the third part.

Part 1

Part 1 Phantom Blood, set in England in 1880, follows Jonathan Joestar as he matures and eventually fights his adopted brother, the cunning and ruthless Dio Brando, who becomes a vampire with the help of an ancient Stone Mask. Jonathan is trained by William Antonio Zeppeli in the vibrant energy of the Ripple, wielded in the human body and transferred into hand-to-hand combat, the only sure way to defeat the Vampires and their zombie minions.

Part 2

Part 2 Battle Tendency sees Jonathan's grandson, Joseph Joestar, travels the world in the days leading up to World War II in 1938 to fight the Pillar Men, an ancient race of hostile men responsible for creating the Stone Mask. Like his grandfather, Joseph undergoes intense training alongside Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli, the grandson of Will, by the billait of Lisa Lisa and attempts to protect the Red Stone of Aja, a gem sought by the Pillar Men to complete the Stone Mask and grant them immunity to the sun.

Part 3

Part 3 Stardust Crusaders, takes place in 1989 as Joseph's grandson, Jotaro Kujo, accompanies Joseph, Mohammed Abdul, Noriaki Kakyoin, Jean-Pierre Polnareff and Iggy from Tokyo to Cairo to fight Dio and save his mother from his mystical influence. From now on, allies and villains alike primarily use the Stands in lieu of the Ripple, a generally humanoid representation of the person's mind, which has become one of the most important features of the series, drastically changing the choreography of the fights.

Part 4

Part 4 Diamond is Unbreakable is set in the fictional town of Morio, Japan in 1999. It follows Joseph's illegitimate son, Josuke Higashikata, as he encounters friends and foes among a crowd of new Stand users created by The Bow and Arrow, two objects that gave Dio his Stand. Together with Okuyasu Nijimura, Koichi Hirose, Jotaro Kujo and Rohan Kishibe, he pursues the serial killer Yoshikage Kira.

Part 5

In Part 5 "Golden Wind", in Italy 2001, Dio's son Giorno Giovana is making his way to the top of Passionne, the most powerful gang in Italy. While plotting to overthrow the mysterious Boss in order to protect the civilian population from his drug trade, he cooperates with Bruno Bucciarati, a member of the gang, and Leone Abbacchio, Guido Mista, Pannacotta Fugo and Narancia Ghirga, who are in charge of protecting the Boss's daughter, Trish Una, from the murderous team La Squadra di Esecuzione.

Part 6

Part 6 Stone Ocean, takes place in 2011 when Jolyne Cujoh, Jotaro's daughter, is accused of murder and imprisoned in the Green Dolphin Street Prison. Jotaro is robbed of her memories by the Stand Whitesnake after she tries to free Jolyne. She then decides to stay imprisoned to find out both who Whitesnake's handler is and what he plans to do with the memories of Jotaro and his Stand. Throughout her adventure, Jolyne is allied with Emporio Alniño, Hermes Costello, Foo Fighters, Narciso Anasui and Weather Report.

Second Continuity

Part 7

Set in the United States, Steel Ball Run follows the epic horse race of the "Steel Ball Run." Jayro Zeppeli, a master of the unique Rotation technique, is looking to win the race's huge prize. He is followed by paraplegic former ace-jockey Johnny Joestar who seeks to learn Rotation to regain his ability to walk. However, they uncover a government conspiracy led by U.S. President Funny Valentine who aims to collect the relics of an unnamed saint who awards Stands to their holders, and they must muster with the president's many assassins, including the promising Diego Brando.

Part 8

Some centuries later in 2011, JoJolion begins and Yasuho Hirose, university student, discovers an amnesiac man in Morio after the (then contemporary) Great East Earthquake. Both then decide to investigate Josuke's past identity, a name he later obtains, initially assumed to be that of the ship's doctor Yoshikage Kira, and the circumstances of his presence in the city, leaving him in the care of the Higashikata family. The two characters then discover the family's darkest secrets and a drug deal involving a mysterious race of humanoid beings and an equally mysterious fruit.
