    ⛩ Giyu Tomioka is a demon slayer and Water Pillar in the Demon Slayer Army.

    Giyu grew up alongside his older sister, Tsutako Tomioka. As a child, his sister sacrificed herself to protect him from demons.

    After Tsutako's death, Giyu tried to tell others that she had been killed by a demon, but people mistook him for mentally ill and he was sent to live with one of his relatives, a doctor. Giyu ran away during the journey and almost died on a mountain, but was rescued and became an apprentice under Sakonji Urokodaki.

    Giyu was 13 when he met , and they became good friends because of their similar backgrounds and ages. Together, they took part in the Final Selection on Mount Fujikasane. Giyu was injured after a demon attack and was saved by Sabito, who defeated almost all the demons on the mountain. However, after the week had passed, it was revealed to Giyu that Sabito was the only one to have died during their selection. As a result, Giyu began to deveSabitolop doubts about the authenticity of his position after becoming the Pillar of Water.

    As a Pillar of the Army of Demon Slayers, Giyu is a very powerful swordsman. He was able to easily defeat the transformed Spider Demon Father and Rui, the Fifth Lower Moon.
