      ⛩ The Exploration Battalion (also known as the Reconnaissance Corps) is one of the three Corps that make up the Paradise Army, along with the Garrison and the Special Brigades. As its name suggests, it is a section specialized in investigations, patrols and external expeditions of the Walls about the Titans, from their origin to the study of the possibilities of their extermination. It is therefore considered a suicidal unit since human beings are supposed to be "powerless" against the Titans, and an average of 30% of the workforce perish during operations.
      Since the Fall of Shiganshina, the Exploration Battalion's goal is to give back to human beings the freedom they once lost when the Titans invaded and the Maria Wall was destroyed. This is why their insignia represents two wings, called "wings of freedom". Following the revelation in Eren's basement, the Exploration Battalion turned their attention to the outside world and specifically to the Mahr people.
