⛩Soshiro Hoshina is the vice-captain of the third division of the defense forces and a member of the Hoshina family, a renowned clan of swordsmen from the Muromachi period. He is also the younger brother of Soichiro Hoshina.

Soshiro has a strong sense of loyalty towards the Defense Forces and feels very grateful to his captain Mina Ashiro for letting him join her division. His loyalty to his role in the force is so strong that he sees it as his sole reason for living deep down.

Although his skills put him at a disadvantage against large kaiju, his ability to defeat small and medium-sized kaiju in combat surpasses that of the captain of the First Division: Gen Narumi.

His older brother and captain of the Sixth Division, Soichiro Hoshina, claims that Soshiro stands above everyone in the Hoshina family, past and present. As vice-captain, Soshiro is capable of using an extremely high amount of the power from his combat suit.
