⛩ Shimotsuki Ryuma was a legendary Samurai from the Land of Wa, who lived during the "Golden Land" era of Wano, centuries ago.

His unrivalled mastery of the sword earned him mythical renown and the title of "God of Blades". One of his legendary feats was to slay a dragon. He is also the direct ancestor of Shimotsuki Ushimaru and Roronoa Zoro.

Two decades before the story begins, Ryuma's tomb in Ringo was looted and his body and sword stolen by Gecko Moria. Eventually, his corpse was reanimated by Moria's power, which gave him Brook's shadow. He transformed him into General Zombie to serve him on Thriller Bark, leading Ryuma to become an antagonist of the Thriller Bark arc, until his defeat by Roronoa Zoro.
