⛩   Kazuto Kirito During the beta test phase and the launch of SAO, the avatar of Kirito had the appearance of a ridiculously handsome fantasy character, much older than he actually was. However, he had matched his height to his real-world height to avoid movement issues.

All SAO players’ avatars were updated to reflect their real appearance, so Kirito’s avatar adopted black hair and black eyes.

He later earned the nickname "The Black Swordsman" because of his tendency to wear black clothes. His equipment consisted of first one, then two swords: the black sword "Elucidator" and the turquoise sword "Dark Repulser." He carried his weapons crossed on his back.
