⛩ Tōshirō Hitsugaya is the captain of the 10th division of the Seireitei, the organization of shinigami fighting against the Hollows. He thus holds the highest military rank after the captain commander, a rank that earns him both fear and admiration from most shinigami.

Hitsugaya possesses great Spiritual Power as well as a very powerful Zanpakutō, the most powerful ice-type Zanpakutō, Hyōrinmaru. It allows him to create and control ice, and even influence the weather to a certain extent.

The Bankai of Hitsugaya: Daiguren Hyōrinmaru, causes the ice of Hyōrinmaru to flow over Hitsugaya, starting with his right arm, where the ice forms into the shape of a dragon's head around his hand.

It is only during his battle against Gerard Valkyrie in the Thousand-Year Blood War that Hitsugaya manages to complete his Bankai. Hitsugaya was not mature enough before to fully use his Bankai, but after forcibly maturing his body, he achieved its completion and full potential.
