⛩ Zodd meets Guts for the first time while he is protecting the inner citadel of a Tudor stronghold, slaughtering nearly fifty members of the Band of the Hawk. The Raiders storming his halls before the swordsman enters alone to confront him. Guts, furious to find him among the massacred remains of his men, charges at Zodd, who repels the swordsman by throwing the corpses of two Raiders at him with a single swing of his sword. He then approaches Guts, complimenting his swordsmanship, before the two begin exchanging blows. After gambling his life on a single strike, Guts manages to slice off the upper half of Zodd's blade, thereby cutting his right shoulder. The continuation of the battle is even more epic!
