⛩ Giyu Tomioka is a demon slayer and the Water Pillar as part of the Demon Slayer Army.

Giyu grew up alongside his older sister, Tsutako Tomioka. When he was a child, his sister sacrificed herself to protect him from demons.

After Tsutako's death, Giyu tried to tell others that she had been killed by a demon, but people mistook him for a mental patient and he was sent to a relative, a doctor. Giyu ran away during the trip and almost died in a mountain, but he was saved and became an apprentice under Sakonji Urokodaki.

Giyu was 13 years old when he met Sabito, and they became good friends because of their similar backgrounds and ages. Together they participated in the Final Selection on Mount Fujikasane. Giyu was injured after a demon attack and was saved by Sabito, who defeated almost all the demons on the mountain. However, after the week passed, it was revealed to Giyu that Sabito was the only one who died during their selection. As a result, Giyu began to develop doubts about the authenticity of his position after becoming the Water Pillar.

As a Pillar of the Demon Slayer Army, Giyu is a very powerful swordsman. He was able to easily defeat the transformed Spider Demon Father and Rui, the Fifth Lower Moon.
