⛩ Yami Yugi (also called Yami or the Nameless Pharaoh) is one of the two main protagonists of Yu-Gi-Oh! DM, along with Yugi Muto. He is the spirit of Atem, a long-buried Egyptian Pharaoh, who resides in the Millennium Puzzle. Since Yugi completed the puzzle, he shares his body with this spirit. Along with Yugi, he is considered the King of Games, the best Duelist in the world.

Yami Yugi is very loyal and attached to his friends, taking control of Yugi's body when they (and Yugi) are in danger. At first he tries to protect them at any cost, and always wins, even if it means hurting someone badly, but Yugi will show him that he must have compassion towards his opponents, and Yami Yugi will understand the importance of friendship and respect.

He is very intelligent and an expert in Dueling, knowing perfectly the rules and strategies of the Game.
