After these events, Ichigo met many adventures that he had to overcome by becoming stronger each time and by surpassing himself while almost dying. He mastered a Bankai named Tanza Zangetsu which concentrates his power in a smaller katana and a kimono which allows him to use an incredible speed.

In his final battle against Aizen he developed his ultimate form the Getsuga Tensho, a super-powerful form that allowed him to defeat the host of the Hōgyoku. The trade-off, however, was heavy: after his final attack, the Mugetsu, he lost all his powers.
