⛩ Hiruzen Sarutobi, nicknamed the God of the Shinobi, was the Third Hokage. Along with Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado (Danzo), he was a pupil of the first two Hokages, Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju. He was also the master of the legendary trio Jiraya, Tsunade and Orochimaru. He had a wife named Biwako Sarutobi, with whom he had two children, one of whom was Asuma Sarutobi.

Hiruzen is considered to be one of the greatest Hokages who ever lived. In fact, in addition to being a true genius who mastered the 5 elements and almost all existing Jutsu, he always put the village and its inhabitants before his own life.

He lost his life at an advanced age during a battle with Orochimaru, one of his students having decided to turn against Konoha.
