⛩ Danzo Shimura was a former elder of Konoha. As the founder and head of Root, Danzo earned the title of The Darkness of the Shinobi due to his frequent unsanctioned actions and suspected undermining (rarely proven) of certain Konoha staff members.

Despite decades of questionable acts, Danzo only acted in what he believed were the village's best interests. He was appointed Candidate for Sixth Hokage after the Pain Invasion but died before being formally approved for the position.
