⛩ Brook, nicknamed Brook the Hummer is the musician as well as the second swordsman (after Zoro) of the Crew of the Paile Hat. He is a living skeleton whom they encountered aboard a ghost ship after finding a mysterious barrel drifting on the ocean. He is a Demon Fruit user, he has the powers of the Fruit of Resurrection. He is an undead person who came back to life in a state of pseudo-immortality due to the powers of this fruit, this fruit is not the cause of his current appearance. He is the ninth member of the Straw Hat Crew and the eighth member who has agreed to join Luffy's crew. Brook is the long-awaited musician that Luffy has wanted since the beginning of his adventures, and who he has mentioned several times throughout the series.

He was once part of the Rumbar Crew and was appointed to captain the rest of the crew after Captain Yorki divided him up to save the survivors from a disease. Brook is particularly close to the whale Laboon and it was he who carried his crew's final song, a song that was to be delivered to the whale, recorded on a Tone Dial, before they all died by poisoned arrows. Before that, he was the leader of a battle convoy from an unidentified kingdom. He dies from poison.
