⛩ The Triforce in The Legend of Zelda is a sacred relic made of three golden triangles left behind by the creator goddesses of Hyrule. It symbolises power, wisdom and courage, associated respectively with Ganondorf, Zelda and Link. This artefact lies at the heart of most games because it holds supreme power and can grant the wishes of whoever possesses it.

The Triforce has the power to grant the wish of the one who touches it. In Ocarina of Time there is a prophecy that states that if the heart of the one who touches the Triforce is good, Hyrule will know peace, but if the heart is dark, the kingdom will fall into chaos.

The reason why the Triforce was created is not revealed. The Triforce does not distinguish between good and evil. Its use requires a strong heart, an inherent capability and the perfect balance between Strength, Wisdom and Courage. If touched by someone who possesses this balance, it grants their wish. However, if touched by someone who lacks this balance, it splits into three parts. The one who touches it obtains the fragment that corresponds most to their ambition, while the two remaining fragments appear on the hands of the chosen ones of the goddesses, two other individuals who possess the greatest power, courage or wisdom. From that moment, it becomes necessary to reunite the three fragments of the Triforce in order to restore it so that it may grant the wish of the one who touches it.
