⛩ Since the Fall of Shiganshina, the Exploration Battalion's goal is to give back to human beings the freedom they once lost during the invasion on Titans and the destruction of the Maria Wall. This is why their insignia represents two wings, called "wings of freedom".

Following the revelation in Eren's basement, the Exploration Battalion turned their attention to the outside world and more specifically to the Mahr people and the upcoming war.

The Battle of Shiganshina is the first real battle between Mahr and Eldia in the series. Indeed, we find the Exploration Battalion pitted against the Colossal, Battleship, Bestial and Cart titans. This was the final act of Operation Paradise Island. Victory went to Erwin Smith's men, at the cost of almost all of them dying.
