However, when Karl Fritz inherited the Original Titan, he chose to abandon the Eldian conflict and move the capital to Paradise Island in the east of the continent. The people of Mahr, in the absence of the King, then seized the opportunity and began a civil war to seize power.

The battle between these two peoples was renewed because of Eren Yeager, an Eldian from the exploration battalion who had the powers of both the original and the attacking titan. He forced Eldia to go to war with Mahr and then took command of the Eldian troops to carry out his horrible plan.
