Yasopp, known as "The Chaser," is the Sniper of the Red-Haired Pirates and one of the crew's top officers. He is the father of Usopp and was the husband of Bankina. Originally from Syrup Village, it was on this very island that he first met Shanks.

Appearance
Yasopp's appearance is very similar to Usopp's, except for the nose and hair color (the nose shape being a trait inherited from Usopp's mother). Yasopp has blonde hair, whereas his son has black hair. Twenty years ago, Yasopp had a much thinner build. When first seen at Foosha Village, he wore a dark blue shirt, green pants, and a headband with his name on it.
By the time of the Battle of Marineford, he appeared more muscular with a completely different style. He now sports long dreadlocks, a black t-shirt, and a star-patterned cape. He has a tattoo on his right arm with his name and carries a large musket on his back.

Yasopp is immensely proud of his son, Usopp, despite leaving his family to join Shanks. His dream of becoming a pirate was paramount, and he followed his captain with honor. He is a man of his word, as shown in his duel with Daddy Masterson. Like his son, he can be quite boastful, though his claims are backed by legendary marksmanship that places him among the best in the world.
Abilities and Skills
Yasopp is a peerless sniper. He once famously claimed, "I could shoot the antenna off an ant at a hundred yards." Luffy has noted that he has never seen Yasopp miss a shot. His precision and Observation Haki are so advanced that he is said to never let a target escape.
In a duel against the skilled Marine sniper Daddy Masterson, Yasopp won with ease. While he can be lighthearted and is known to be a good dancer, his focus in combat is absolute. He carries a flintlock pistol in earlier scenes, later switching to a full-sized musket.
Haki
Yasopp is a proficient user of both Observation Haki and Armament Haki. His Observation Haki is particularly refined, allowing him to track high-speed targets with ease.

Family
Usopp: Yasopp is deeply fond of Usopp and spent much of Luffy's childhood talking about his son. While Usopp grew up without his father, he never resented him; instead, he takes great pride in being the son of a brave sea warrior. After the timeskip, Yasopp was seen proudly laughing at Usopp's "God Usopp" bounty poster.
Bankina: Yasopp's late wife. She fully supported his dream to become a pirate and was proud of him until her death from illness. It is unknown if Yasopp is aware of her passing.
Allies and Rivals
Shanks: Yasopp was one of Shanks' first recruits. They share a close bond of mutual respect and friendship.
Vista: During the Battle of Marineford, Yasopp and the Whitebeard commander Vista were seen exchanging tense glances. The databooks suggest a history or a competitive rivalry exists between them.
History
Yasopp joined Shanks' crew early on and spent significant time in East Blue. He bonded with Luffy in Foosha Village before the crew headed to the Grand Line. He was present at Marineford to stop the war and later attended the funerals of Ace and Whitebeard. In the final saga, he was seen at Elbaf, ready to defend his captain's territory against the Kid Pirates, though Shanks ended the fight before the officers needed to step in.
