Solo Leveling is on its way to becoming one of the most successful manhwa adaptations of all time.
The anime took the world by storm from the very beginning, featuring one of the most compelling transformations of a main character. Sung Jinwoo, once known as the “World’s Weakest Hunter,” suddenly awakened after gaining access to a mysterious program called the System. On the brink of death during the Double Dungeon raid, Jinwoo acquired an unprecedented power that continued to grow as he completed levels.

Although the Hunter is only beginning to scratch the surface of his potential, fans can’t help but notice that Jinwoo uses a variety of passive and active skills that bring him closer to omnipotence. From his famous Shadow Extraction ability to his drastic physical transformation, here are all the powers and abilities Jinwoo has used in the anime so far.
Jinwoo Has Access to Exclusive Storage and Shops
Sung Jinwoo became the sole "Player" of the System after narrowly escaping death during the Double Dungeon raid. This mysterious program unlocked unlimited potential within Jinwoo, transforming him into a formidable force. From the beginning, he acquired several passive and active abilities that gave him a solid foundation to develop quest-specific skills. By completing daily quests and dungeons, Jinwoo experienced uninterrupted growth and gained access to the System’s inventory and shop.
Unlike most Hunters around the world, who are limited to a single form of magic or ability, Jinwoo can use the System’s rewards and upgrades to acquire multiple weapons and skills. For instance, during the S-Rank Gate raid, he summoned his Shadow Army to defeat the High Orc Shaman. Other Hunters present were amazed that Jinwoo could summon an entire army, whereas most B or A-Rank Hunters could only summon three creatures at most.
Unlimited Inventory and System Shop
Ordinary Hunters can carry only a limited amount of gear, such as swords, shields, and other buffs. Raid groups even include designated carriers who allow immediate access to supplies. However, Jinwoo can access any item at any time thanks to the unlimited storage provided by the System.
Jinwoo Can Store Daggers, Potions, Food, Guild Cards, and More Without Carrying Them
In addition to unlimited storage space, Jinwoo also has access to the System Shop, which allows him to purchase items that can’t be found in the real world. He can buy potions, clothing, food, and weapons using reward points, based on his current level.
Unlimited Skill Enhancement
Once a Hunter awakens, they can no longer change their status or the amount of magic they generate. This means a Hunter who awakens at E-Rank can never reach D-Rank, no matter how much they train or improve. This is one of the central themes of Solo Leveling—no one else in the world can raise their rank or skills like Jinwoo.

This is all thanks to the System, which was specifically designed to prepare Jinwoo, both mentally and physically, to become Ashborn’s vessel. Jinwoo’s stats—such as strength, mana, intelligence, speed, and more—can increase infinitely as he completes quests and levels up. This unrestricted growth allows Jinwoo to face all kinds of dungeon bosses, and even go toe-to-toe with the country’s most powerful S-Rank Hunters.
Custom Quests and Dungeons
Since Sung Jinwoo couldn’t reveal himself as a high-ranking Hunter after being known as the “Weakest Hunter of All Mankind,” he had to clear dungeons that were inaccessible to ordinary guilds. The System enabled him to progress through personalized quests and solo dungeons designed specifically to help him level up. The Demon Castle is a prime example of how the System created a gaming environment where Jinwoo could complete daily quests and earn reward points and special items without the risk of being exposed or held back.
Sung Jinwoo Possesses a Plethora of Active and Passive Skills
Jinwoo Gains or Enhances His Abilities Every Time He Levels Up
After his awakening, Sung Jinwoo acquired several innate abilities granted by the System specifically to help him survive as he progressed. For instance, Jinwoo gained physical and magical dominance that transcended the normal standards of the Hunter system. In addition to his class-specific skills, Jinwoo awakened with various passive and active abilities, which acted as safeguards to keep him alive and powerful until the System fulfilled its goal. Passive skills are triggered automatically for survival, while Jinwoo can adapt most of his active abilities depending on the level of difficulty.
Stealth Mode Hides Jinwoo’s Presence
Stealth is one of Sung Jinwoo’s most interesting and useful abilities. It was one of the first skills he acquired after his initial real encounter with another Hunter. This skill conceals its user, making them undetectable to enemies while granting exceptional speed and precision. The user becomes virtually invisible and can launch attacks from any direction. This skill was originally used by Kang Taeshik, a corrupt Hunter from the Hunters Association, who exploited it to kill fellow Hunters for pleasure.
After defeating him during a raid, Jinwoo acquired the skill through a Rune Stone. Since then, he has used Stealth to hide in plain sight during high-risk raids and strike powerful enemies from the shadows, while his Shadow Army serves as a distraction. Interestingly, this assassin-like skill pairs perfectly with Stealth and Jinwoo’s fast-paced combat style and quick strikes, making him a deadly force even in close quarters.
Kandiaru’s Blessing Grants Him Longevity
Kandiaru’s Blessing, a passive skill named after the creator of the System, is automatically activated after Jinwoo’s revival during the Double Dungeon raid. This ability grants the player inherent strength and vitality, allowing his skills to grow exponentially. It acts as a default setting that ensures the player’s survival.
These skills function as an insurance policy, securing Jinwoo’s longevity and working in tandem with “Will to Recover.” Together, these passive abilities protect him from physical threats, poisoning, and magical enchantments. They also significantly enhance his regeneration capabilities and even render him immune to all kinds of illnesses, including fatigue.
Mana and Endurance
Although Jinwoo’s mana is not infinite, it has grown immensely since the beginning of his journey. At first, he struggled to recover mana quickly, but this changed as he advanced through higher levels. He was able to increase his mana pool by consuming potions and allocating reward points to enhance his stats.
While most of his skills do not consume excessive amounts of mana, a substantial portion is used when summoning his Shadow Army. The more frequently he summons soldiers, the faster his mana depletes. One of the best examples of Jinwoo’s mana usage is his recent battle against Baran, the Monarch of Demons, in Solo Leveling Season 2. During this intense fight, Jinwoo completely drained his mana, repeatedly summoning his strongest shadows, only to see them effortlessly destroyed by Baran.
Killing Intent Is an Intimidation Tactic
Although Jinwoo’s aura alone is enough to instill fear in his enemies, he also possesses a skill specifically designed for this purpose. Known as Bloodlust or Killing Intent, this ability allows Jinwoo to intimidate his opponents for one full minute, terrifying them to the point of paralysis. Additionally, the skill’s bonuses reduce the enemy’s stats by 50%, allowing Jinwoo to strike precisely where they’re most vulnerable.
