Vasco Shot, also known by his epithet, "Heavy Drinker" (or "The King of Booze"), was one of the legendary criminals sentenced to life in Level 6 of Impel Down. He was liberated by Marshall D. Teach and currently serves as the Captain of the Eighth Ship of the Blackbeard Pirates. He originally hails from South Blue.

Appearance
Vasco is a massive, rotund man. Among the Blackbeard Pirates, he is the second tallest, surpassed only by Sanjuan Wolf. He has a distinctively long nose, a wide forehead, and typically wears a jester-like hat. His skin has a permanent pinkish hue, likely due to his extreme chronic alcohol consumption. He is often seen with a drunken smile and his tongue hanging out. On his neck, he sports two sets of three piercings. He is famously depicted carrying a giant gourd of sake on his back, featuring the kanji for "liquor" (酒).
Personality
Vasco Shot possesses a cruel and vicious nature. During the Battle of Marineford, he expressed a desire to slaughter everyone present, regardless of their status. He is obsessed with alcohol to the point of suggesting the crew invade towns purely to replenish his supply. He also exhibits a lecherous side, notably during the invasion of Amazon Lily. Like many One Piece characters, he has a unique laugh: "Topu topu topu topu topu".
Abilities and Skills
While his full combat history is limited, being a survivor of the Level 6 bloodbath at Impel Down proves his elite strength. He has been seen using dual pistols in combat, but his most dangerous asset is his Devil Fruit power.
Gabu Gabu no Mi (Glug-Glug Fruit)
Vasco Shot ate the Gabu Gabu no Mi, which allows him to manipulate alcohol. He can produce and control liquor, and even ignite it to create devastating fire-based attacks, a technique he nearly used to burn down Hachinosu before being stopped by Pizarro.
History
Vasco Shot earned a reputation as one of the world's most heinous criminals, leading the World Government to sentence him to Level 6 of Impel Down to erase him from history. He was liberated when Blackbeard arrived at the prison and ordered the inmates to fight to the death, with Vasco being one of the few survivors recruited into the crew.
He played a role in the death of Whitebeard and was later pétrified by Boa Hancock during the invasion of Amazon Lily, though he was later freed. During the Marine's invasion of Hachinosu, he attempted to stop Garp but was used as a human shield by the legendary Vice-Admiral. He ultimately witnessed Garp's defeat at the hands of Kuzan.
