To prevent a larger catastrophe, Kiritsugu shot down the plane over the ocean before Natalia could land it—offering her a merciful death and saving countless lives.

In Naruto, Itachi Uchiha was forced to choose between his village, Konoha, and his clan, the Uchiha. Hoping to prevent a rebellion, Itachi slaughtered his entire clan in the name of peace. Had the Uchiha succeeded in launching their coup, countless civilians would have died.
During the Uchiha clan massacre, Itachi killed his childhood friend and lover, Izumi Uchiha, by casting Tsukuyomi on her. Inside the genjutsu, Izumi lived out her entire life—growing old alongside Itachi, starting a family, and dying peacefully of old age. She briefly regained consciousness to thank him for his mercy before passing away quietly. Unlike the rest of his clan, whom he killed swiftly, Itachi gave Izumi a peaceful death through illusion. The anime later altered Izumi’s death from the manga, depicting Obito as the one who killed her after wiping out the Uchiha Police Force.

In the end, it was Nagisa who delivered the final blow, as Koro Sensei smiled one last time.

Having no other way to recreate his experiment, Shou Tucker fused his own daughter Nina and her dog Alexander into a chimera, out of sheer greed. Later, during his quest for revenge against State Alchemists, Scar discovered the twisted experiment and mercifully ended Nina's suffering as a chimera.
