The Heart Crew is a recognized crew of notable pirates discovered on the Sabaody Archipelago during the time the Straw Hat Crew arrived, two years ago. Their potential is further seen with the release of Silvers Rayleigh's Fluid, which almost all of the crew members have been able to resist.
Its captain is Trafalgar Law, one of the Eleven Supernovas, who became one of the Seven Captain Corsairs after the two-year ellipse. However, his title was revoked by Fujitora, when the latter learned that he had allied himself with the Straw Hat Crew. The total bounty after the two-year ellipse was over 440,000,500 Berrys. After the events of Dressrosa, the total bounty of the crew exceeded 500,000,500 Berrys. Today, after the confrontation with Kaido and Big Mom on the island of Onigashima, the crew's bonus exceeds 3,000,000,500 Berrys.

Pirate flag
Like many other pirates in North Blue, the Heart Pirates do not seem to use a skull and crossbones for the flag, but a smiley face instead. It looks like a virus.
History
Past
Thirteen years ago, when Law was trying to reach the "next town over" on Swallow Island, he met Penguin and Shachi, two boys from Swallow, North Blue. The two kids are martyring a polar bear. He gives the two kids a hard time, but saves the polar bear and even earns the respect of the other two. This is how our four friends met. Bepo decided to study navigation hard so that one day he could return to Zo. The four friends founded the Heart crew. They sailed on the Grand Line and reached the Sabaody Archipelago.

The crew is composed of 20 members, including Law himself. The most striking characteristic of the crew is that they all wear the same white suit, other than Law himself, as well as Bart, a new recruit who had to change for a black shirt. Bepo, on the other hand, wears the same outfit as the other members of the crew but in orange. A similar clothing design was also seen being worn by the World Nobles slaves, the only notable difference being that the Heart Pirates have their symbol on their suits. At least 5 crew members, including Bepo and the newly recruited Jean Bart have been confirmed.
Later, more crewmates were revealed, as seen in Chapter 591. It seems that Bepo, Shachi (also spelled Sachi), and Penguin are all skilled in martial arts, in which they all seem stylistically similar. Additionally, Law is the ship's doctor, making him the only known ship's doctor on a Pirate Crew who is also a Captain.
Strength of the Crew
It can be assumed that they are strong enough to have come all the way to the Sabaody Archipelago, and have a captain with a high bounty who is one of the Eleven Supernovae. With the addition of a new member, the famous pirate captain Jean Bart, the crew may have grown in strength. All of the crew members present at the Sabaody Archipelago auction house have managed to withstand an explosion of Silvers Rayleigh fluid. Like the rest of the Supernovae, they managed to escape upon arrival at Kizaru Archipelago. They were also able to make it to Marine Ford, where the war was taking place shortly after leaving the Sabaody Archipelago.

They also seem to have great skills in the medical field, as their submarine is provided with what looks like a full operating room, and their captain is competent enough to heal Luffy, while he was on the verge of death. With their captain being a former Grand Corsair, it is likely that the reputation and strength of the crew has increased.
All the crew members, except Law, can swim perfectly and their strength increases in the water, just like the fish-men. They are therefore used to attacking enemies underwater, as can be seen when they confront Blackbeard's crew.
Law's main subordinates seem to be skilled in martial arts, especially Bepo, Shachi and Penguin. John Bart's reputation is primarily based on his great strength, as he demonstrates by demolishing a bridge to lose Marines. The greatest strength of the Crew, however, is its captain, who is one of the Eleven Supernovae but also after the ellipse one of the 7 Captain Corsairs, a title later revoked by fujitora after he discovered his alliance with the Straw Hat Crew a unique fact showing the power he possesses. Law was able to defeat a troop of Marines and even Vice-Admiral Smoker, even though he had a Logia Demon Fruit, without apparently using Haki, as his powers allowed him to remove Smoker's heart.

The Heart pirates use a submarine as their primary mode of transportation. Its first appearance is in chapter 578 and in episode 487 .
The ship seems to have considerable speed and good maneuverability when submerged, as seen when it completely outpaced Aokiji's "Ice Age" attack, and escaped Kizaru's "Yasakani No Magatama" attack. It also seems that the submarine can pass through Calm Belt since it left Amazon Lily, without needing to be accompanied by the Kuja Pirates' ship.
Despite the fact that it works as a submarine, its design is similar to a ship because it has a mast and lights on the outside. Also, on its side, it has the Jolly Roger of the Heart Pirates with the word death (this refers to the tattoos on Trafalgar Law's hands and his epithet, "The Surgeon of Death"). Inside, the submarine appears to be well equipped with medical devices and life support systems that are all stored in the sick bay.
Trivia
- In Japanese fandom, Penguin and Shachi were often called "Penguin" (ペンギン) and "Cap" (キャスケット). The first, Penguin, from the word on his cap, and the second from the Japanese name for the type of hat he wears.
- The Jolly Roger of the Heart Pirates looks like a virus. This is an appropriate choice considering Trafalgar Law's profession and his epithet: "Surgeon of Death".
- All the crew members except Law, Bepo and Jean Bart have their faces obscured by the hat they wear.
- Their submarine would be inspired by a Beatles' song: "Yellow Submarine".
- Their submarine is named "Polar Tang", although this was never mentioned during its appearances in the manga, as revealed by Oda in SBS Volume 82.
- The smile on the Jolly Roger surely pays tribute to Rossinante's smile
