The 10 strongest defensive Devil Fruits in One Piece

Devil Fruits are one of the primary power systems in One Piece and are generally divided into three categories.

Paramecia types offer a wide variety of superhuman abilities, Logia types generally grant elemental powers, and Zoan Devil Fruits allow their users to transform into a specific animal or mythical creature. While most Devil Fruits have offensive capabilities, some possess exceptional defensive attributes.

Most of the best defensive Devil Fruits in One Piece belong to the Paramecia class, but there is at least one Zoan that also offers great protection. Some of these Devil Fruits are immune to specific types of attacks and damage, and some defensive Devil Fruits can also produce deadly counter-attacks.

10. The Chop-Chop Fruit - Immunity to Slashing Attacks

First Appearance: Episode 5, "Fear, Mysterious Power! Pirate Clown Captain Buggy!"

• User: Buggy the Clown
• Main Technique: Chop-Chop Cannon
• Debut Arc: Orange Town Arc

The Chop-Chop Fruit (Bara Bara no Mi) is a Paramecia type that gives its user the ability to split their body into pieces. They can control these pieces at will and, under the right conditions, perform sneak attacks. A major defensive feature of this fruit is that the user's body is permanently immune to slashing and piercing attacks, making them invulnerable against swordsmen like Zoro or even Dracule Mihawk, the world's greatest swordsman.

9. The Turtle-Turtle Fruit - A Protective Shell

First Appearance: Episode 572, "Grim Prospects - A Trap Awaiting In The New World"

• User: Pekoms
• Main Technique: Unknown
• Debut Arc: Fish-Man Island Arc

The Turtle-Turtle Fruit (Kame Kame no Mi) is a Zoan that allows its user to transform into a turtle, providing a shell as hard as diamond. This shell is nearly impenetrable, resisting bullets and debris from collapsing buildings. Although it slows the user's movements and causes them to lose their clothes, the defensive trade-off is well worth it.

8. The Bis-Bis Fruit - Durable Biscuit Armor

First Appearance: Episode 796, "The Land of Souls - Mom's Fatal Ability!"

• User: Charlotte Cracker
• Main Technique: Biscuit Soldiers (Biscuit Hei)

The Bis-Bis Fruit allows its user to create and manipulate biscuits, which can be reinforced with Armament Haki. Cracker's biscuit armor can withstand Luffy's attacks, even in Gear 4: Bounceman form. While the armor can be weakened by water, the user can create an endless supply of armor or soldiers to fight or escape.

7. The Warp-Warp Fruit - Escaping Danger

First Appearance: Episode 1,093, "The Winner Takes All! Law Vs. Blackbeard!"

• User: Van Augur
• Main Technique: Warp

6. The Straw-Straw Fruit - Damage Redirection

First Appearance: Episode 401, "Impossible To Avoid!? Admiral Kizaru's Speed Of Light Kick!!"

• User: Basil Hawkins
• Main Technique: Straw Man
• Debut Arc: Sabaody Archipelago Arc

The Straw-Straw Fruit (Wara Wara no Mi) allows the user to create and manipulate straw, but its best defensive ability is creating small straw voodoo dolls that redirect damage to the person the doll is linked to, thus protecting the user from direct attacks.

5. The Castle-Castle Fruit - Durable Fortress Transformation

First Appearance: Episode 401, "Impossible To Avoid!? Admiral Kizaru's Speed Of Light Kick!!"

• User: Capone Bege
• Main Technique: Big Father (Rook In Voller Grobe)

4. The Paw-Paw Fruit - Repelling Attacks

First Appearance: Episode 368, "Soundless Invasion!! The Mysterious Visitor: Kuma The Tyrant"

• User: Bartholomew Kuma & S-Bear
• Main Techniques: Repel (Puni), Ursus Shock

3. The Mirror-Mirror Fruit - Reflecting Enemy Attacks

First Appearance: Episode 790, "The Emperor's Castle — Arriving At Whole Cake Island"

• User: Charlotte Brulee
• Main Technique: Reflection
• Debut Arc: Whole Cake Island Arc

The Mirror-Mirror Fruit (Mira Mira no Mi) allows the user to create mirrors that act as portals to a pocket dimension. These mirrors can absorb and reflect enemy attacks, providing effective protection against both melee and ranged strikes.

2. The Barrier-Barrier Fruit - Creating Protective Barriers

First Appearance: Episode 637, "Big Names Duke It Out! The Heated Block B Battle!"

• Users: Semimaru Kurozumi & Bartolomeo
• Main Technique: Barrier
• Debut Arc: Dressrosa Arc

The Barrier-Barrier Fruit (Bari Bari no Mi) allows the creation of nearly unbreakable barriers that can block devastating attacks from the likes of Doflamingo or the powerful slashing attacks of Kozuki Oden.

1. The Diamond Fruit - Blocking Any Attack

First Appearance: Episode 463, "Burn Everything To Ash! Admiral Akainu's Power"

• User: Jozu
• Main Technique: Brilliant Punk
• Debut Arc: Marineford Arc

The Diamond Fruit (Kira Kira no Mi) allows the user to transform their body into diamond, the hardest substance in the world. Capable of blocking Mihawk's attacks and resisting bullets and cannon fire, this fruit offers a nearly impenetrable defense, especially when reinforced with Haki.

These Devil Fruits offer exceptional defense in the ruthless world of One Piece, allowing their users to survive and thrive in the most dangerous situations.
