After he decided that helping non-exorcists was no longer a viable option following various events, Suguru's ideals changed radically and he left the exorcism institute after slaughtering a hundred civilians in a single night, including his parents. He then became a master of plagues, aiming to create a world without non-exorcists. Over the years, Suguru formed a veritable sect - built on the remains of the Astral Cult - and surrounded himself with powerful plague masters. He is also the main instigator of the Parade of Plagues, a terrorist attack that took place in the cities of Shinjuku and Kyoto.

Appearance

Suguru is a tall man with long black hair tied at the back of his head, and a lock falling from the front of his face. He has squinty eyes and large earlobes, each with a piercing.

In 2006, when he was still a student at the Tokyo school, Suguru had shorter hair, which he tied up in a bun, while keeping his characteristic lock. His school uniform consisted of a long-sleeved black jacket, black baggy pants and black shoes.

A year later, Suguru's hair had grown longer, especially by the time he became a flail master. It was around this time, moreover, that he began to adopt his typical guru garb, namely a Buddhist monk's outfit consisting of a yellow rakusu with green checks over a black yukata, black pants, tabi and zori.

Personality

Suguru is an experienced fighter, described as a troublemaker. Suguru is a person who is aware of his high level, but knows how to be humble and show respect. He can also be arrogant, as he and Satoru consider themselves the "strongest" duo, before he became a master of the plagues.

Like the plagues, he doesn't regard human lives as having any value, and feels disgust towards non-exorcists, whom he regards as common primates, using the term "primate" to refer to them. He believes that exorcists are the superior race and the next step in humanity's future.

In contrast, Suguru cares deeply for his fellow plague masters, regarding his commanders as his own family. Suguru is even polite to the exorcists, although this is usually expressed in one of his false guises. In fact, after defeating Yuta Okkotsu's classmates, Suguru wept and expressed his joy at seeing young exorcists working together to protect each other, declaring that his ideal was gradually beginning to take shape.

When he was still a student at the Tokyo School of Exorcism, he had positive ethical aspects about the world of exorcists, and firmly believed that exorcists existed to protect the weak, i.e. people who couldn't use occult energy.

However, after Riko Amanai's death, things began to change. Followers of the Astral Cult applauded her death, a deplorable action that stayed with Suguru. He decided not to kill them because it wouldn't make sense for the exorcists. Then, after a discussion with Yuki Tsukumo, he realized that exorcists give their lives for the weak when fighting plagues and that it is precisely humans who create these plagues, so he began to think that eradicating humans who don't know how to use occult energy would prevent the creation of other plagues.

History

Hidden Treasure Bow / Premature Death

During his junior year at Tokyo's exorcism school, Suguru with Satoru and Shoko go to check on Mei Mei and Utahime Iori after not hearing from them for two days. After the three manage to save Mei and Utahime in addition to dealing with the plague, they attend a meeting where Masamichi Yaga punishes Satoru for not installing a curtain. Later, Suguru, Satoru and Shoko are in the classroom discussing the importance of a curtain. Suguru and Satoru argue about the strong protecting the weak, which almost leads to a fight. Suddenly, Masamichi enters the room and informs the two students of a mission given to them by Tengen, to protect the Stellar Plasma. Masamichi explains to the two the importance of the mission and that they'll have to watch out for two groups who want to stop them. After being informed of the mission, Suguru and Satoru set off to carry it out.

When they arrive on the scene to find the Plasma Stellaire, an explosion occurs and the Plasma Stellaire falls to the ground, but Suguru and Satoru manage to save her. Suguru is then confronted by Q member Kokun. Suguru easily defeats Kokun and heads off to find Satoru. As the Stellar Plasma, Riko Amanai, awakens, Suguru introduces himself and Satoru to her. The three begin to talk, and Riko explains that she doesn't hate the idea of merging with Tengen.

After talking, Suguru and Satoru take Riko to her school, as she forced them to do so, so that she can visit her friend. After arriving at the school and speaking with Masamichi, who informs them to accede to all Riko's requests, they decide to check the surveillance plagues and Suguru tells Satoru that two have been exorcised. Satoru and Misato Kuroi set off to protect Riko, while Suguru deals with the intruders.

After getting rid of the enemies, Suguru heads off to the beach in Okinawa with Satoru, Riko and Misato. To ensure Riko's safety, Kento Nanami and Yu Haibara join them at the airport and stay in Okinawa all day. Entering the school gate, the four of them are attacked by Toji Fushiguro, who stabs Satoru in the back.

Suguru quickly takes Riko and Misato into the school complex and heads for the Dead Star Pavilion. Once there, Suguru and Riko separate from Misato and enter the main hall of the Dead Star Pavilion. Suguru explains to Riko where to reach Tengen, but also explains how he won't stop her if she wants to leave. Riko, initially confused, retorts that she wants to leave. Suguru prepares to escort her, but Toji shoots Riko. Suguru asks him how he got here and Toji replies that he killed Satoru, which angers the student. As they fight, Toji explains to Suguru how he's managed to remain undetected so far, and even how he fights. Suguru doesn't care, however, and instead wants to know how he found them and what happened to Misato. Toji admits that he took care of her, but doesn't know if she's still alive. While Suguru briefly gains the upper hand and tries to paralyze the assassin by stealing his flail and weapons, Toji easily overcomes Suguru's spirits and defeats him. Deciding not to kill Suguru because of the risk of releasing his flails, Toji kicks him and tells him that all their powers were useless to stop someone devoid of occult energy.

Later, Suguru is healed by Shoko and heads for the Astral Cult base. Once there, Suguru discovers that not only is Toji dead, but that Satoru has recovered Riko's body. Before leaving, Satoru suggests that they take care of all the cult's adherents, but Suguru tells him this would no longer make sense.

A year later, Suguru and Shoko help Satoru with his techniques. Suguru thinks Satoru has become "the strongest" and wonders who he's doing all this for. When he meets Yu, Yu asks Suguru if he should bring him something from his mission, to which Suguru replies something sweet, as he will be sharing it with Satoru. Suguru then asks Yu why he became an exorcist, but they are suddenly interrupted by Yuki Tsukumo. Yu leaves them alone and sets off on a mission.

Suguru and Yuki discuss the problem of the appearance of plagues. Yuki explains that she has come up with two solutions to stop the phenomenon: the first is to deprive mankind of occult energy, and the second is to enable mankind to control it. When Suguru mentions the possibility of wiping out all non-exorcists, Yuki explains that this would be the easiest but most extreme solution. After the two of them talk, Yuki tells Suguru not to worry about the Stellar Plasma, as Tengen unexpectedly stabilized before leaving. Later, Suguru meets Kento at the morgue and learns how Yu was killed during their mission. In September, Suguru is sent on a mission to a village, but massacres the entire population when they want him to kill two young exorcists - Mimiko and Nanako Hasaba. Suguru takes the two girls and runs away with them. He is now considered a master of plagues and is sentenced to death.

Some time later, Suguru also attacks his parents. He later meets Shoko in Shinjuku and explains that he plans to kill all non-exorcists. When Shoko brings Satoru to Shinjuku, Suguru discusses his ideal with Satoru. Satoru, unable to kill his former friend, lets Suguru go. Later, Suguru meets most of the former members of the Astral Cult and explains that he will take over, killing their spokesman in the process.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0

In 2017, Suguru releases a plague in an elementary school that swallows two children. However, the scourge is defeated by Yuta Okkotsu and Rika Orimoto.

Some months later, Suguru goes to the Hapina gallery to see the S-class vengeful spirit, Rika. Suguru unleashes a powerful spirit and makes it fight against Yuta and Toge Inumaki. After the two manage to defeat the scourge, Suguru expresses his disappointment at Rika's non-appearance. Suguru also says that he'll have to meet Yuta soon, as he'll have to return his student card, which one of his spirits has stolen. Suguru then returns to his base.

A few days later, Suguru helps a woman cursed by a spirit. The woman expresses how grateful she is that the curse has been exorcised and leaves. Suguru then expresses his disgust for non-exorcists. Manami Suda appears and informs her that her commanders have arrived. As Suguru and her comrade head for the meeting, one of Suguru's donors, Kanemori, suddenly shows up. Kanemori complains that Suguru must perform an exorcism on him since he has given so much to his sect, which Manami confirms before adding that he hasn't donated in six months. Suguru then kills Kanemori and heads for his meeting. Suguru meets his fellow plague masters and informs them that they will soon be attacking the exorcism school.

Later, Suguru arrives at the Tokyo school with his allies. He introduces himself to Yuta and reveals that he wishes to kill all non-exorcists in order to create a world for exorcists only, which Yuta disagrees with. The school staff suddenly show up and ask why Suguru is here, to which Suguru says he will release 2,000 spirits throughout Japan on December 24. Suguru then leaves with his followers but leaves a few plagues around the school.

Yuji Itadori

On December 24, Suguru arrives at the Tokyo exorcism school to obtain Rika. Suguru kills all his opponents and builds a curtain around the school. Suguru then meets Maki Zenin, Panda and Toge, whom he easily defeats. While Suguru is happy to see exorcists sacrificing themselves for other exorcises, Yuta shows up and gets angry. Suguru sends several plagues at Yuta and Rika, but Yuta manages to defend himself and save and heal his friends. As Yuta returns to the fight, Suguru releases more spirits, but Yuta uses Rika's power to defeat them.

Suguru comes to understand Rika's power and further expresses his desire to possess her. Suguru then takes on Yuta in close combat and overpowers him, forcing Rika to pull Yuta away from Suguru. While Suguru confronts Yuta, the Master of Plagues expresses his views on non-exorcists. Yuta rushes at Suguru, but the latter manages to break his sword. After a brief conversation between the two, Suguru decides to use all his flails against Yuta and Rika with his Spiral technique. Yuta decides to fully unleash Rika's power at the cost of his own life, and the two of them fire a beam of energy powerful enough to exorcise all Suguru's scourges, forcing Suguru to retreat.

Suguru is left with his right arm torn off and expresses his desire to possess Rika. Suguru then meets Satoru and the two begin to talk. Suguru returns Yuta's student card to him before being finished off.

After the Parade of Plagues

After this, Satoru chooses not to donate Suguru's body to the exorcism school. This allows an entity called Kenjaku to take possession of Suguru's corpse, reanimate him and give him access to all his abilities. The man many people now call "Suguru Geto" is in fact an impostor.

Skills & Competencies

Suguru Geto was one of four S-class exorcists and was considered the worst of all the plague masters, due to the level of danger he presented to mankind.

As a student, Suguru and Satoru were both considered "the strongest". He was able to beat experienced flail masters on several occasions with little effort. His flail collection was quite extensive, with a wide variety of different abilities and roles in a fight. Suguru wasn't too dependent on his flails as he was also very good at close combat.

As scourge masters, Suguru used his religious group as a decoy to collect thousands of scourges. Over the course of a decade, Suguru became a greater threat to humanity than any plague at the time. With thousands of plagues and several plague masters at his side, Suguru had enough power behind him to declare war on the exorcism school, the cornerstone of the exorcist community. However, during the Parade of Plagues, if his forces hadn't been divided between Kyoto and Shinjuku, Suguru would have succeeded in defeating the exorcists.

Physical Abilities

Hand-to-hand

Suguru is a highly skilled hand-to-hand combatant, with knowledge of both weaponized and unarmed martial arts. Because of his ability to manipulate plagues to fight for him, his enemies tend to underestimate his physical abilities, and Suguru uses them to his advantage.

Panda, an incarnate who excels in close combat, was even outmatched by Suguru in a brief exchange of purely physical blows. In his younger days, he was notably able to overwhelm an armed flail master with mixed blows, then leave him bleeding.

Exorcism

Suguru is famous for being able to manipulate thousands of plagues at the same time, possessing large reserves of occult energy. Due to the nature of his spell, Suguru has a deep understanding of how occult energy works. He can manipulate it to hide its impurities or imbue it into weapons. He is also able to read the occult energy flow of other exorcists without difficulty.

Spirit manipulation

Spirit Manipulation (じゅれいそうじゅつ, Jurei Sōjutsu) is Suguru's innate technique and enables him to domesticate the plagues he captures by absorbing them into a small sphere that he swallows.

Suguru Geto: verdadeira identidade (Kenshuku), planos do mal e muito mais

Here is a list of Suguru's notable plagues:

  • Iridescent Dragon (にじりゅう, Niji Ryū): A large dragon that Suguru had tamed as a teenager. It was the toughest of all his plagues but was exorcised by Toji.
  • Split-Mouthed Woman (くちさけおんな, Kuchisake On'na): She was a pseudo-spectre Suguru possessed as a teenager. When invoked, she manifested her Simple Territory, managing to lock her target in. The only way to free herself from her territory was to answer the question "Am I pretty? If the answer was negative, a series of scissors began to appear around her target's body. Like the Iridescent Dragon, she was exorcised by Toji.
  • Semi-class 1 scourge: Suguru possessed a semi-class 1 scourge until 2017. He invoked it to attack Yuta Okkotsu and Toge Inumaki during one of their missions, but they exorcised it. The scourge can release destructive rays at its target's location.
  • Storage Scourge: A scourge with the ability to store objects. Originally belonging to Toji, Suguru appropriated the flail after the latter's death.
Incarnation of Tamamo-no-Mae (けしんたまものまえ, Keshin Tamamo-no-Mae): This is an S-class pseudo-spectre and was one of the most powerful spirits in Suguru's collection during 2017.
  • Superior Technique, Spiral (ごくのばん「うずまき」, Gokunoban: Uzumaki): Suguru condenses all the plagues he has assimilated into a mass of occult energy that he hurls at his opponent. When used on flails of at least semi-class 1, Spirale extracts the flail's innate spells and causes them to be assimilated by Suguru. However, these powers are for single use only.

Magic Barriers

In terms of mastery of magical barriers, we know that Suguru can erect the Curtain (とばり, Tobari), a magical barrier that prevents it from being seen from the outside and reveals the presence of plagues on the inside. Suguru may also be able to trap exorcists inside and deploy the curtain over another, weaker exorcist's curtain.

Intelligence

Suguru had always been a brilliant student at the exorcism school. His intellect translated well to combat, always able to think one step ahead of his opponent. An older, more experienced plague master tried to deceive Suguru by getting close to him, but eventually fell into his trap.

In his fight with Toji Fushiguro, Suguru managed to surprise the exorcist killer for a moment. He moved behind Toji knowing that his confidence would keep his guard down and almost absorbed Toji's scourge as a means of cutting off his weapons supply. However, this ultimately backfired due to circumstances Suguru couldn't have foreseen, leaving him open to being exploited at close range.

Thanks to the resources accumulated during a series of strategic moves, Suguru took on the entire exorcist community, and the Parade of Plagues effectively drew all the exorcists to Kyoto and Shinjuku. Meanwhile, Suguru was able to infiltrate Tokyo's exorcism school to confront Yuta directly and capture Rika Orimoto.

Gojo Satoru

Weapon Mastery

He's also an adept with cursed items, as he was able to wield the Floating Cloud, an S-class cursed item, against Yuta and a fully manifested Rika. He was able to parry Yuta's sword blows and Rika's physical blows at the same time, keeping both at bay with masterful skill.

Equipment

Floating Cloud (ゆううん, Yū-un): This is a cursed S-class item that takes the form of a stick divided into three sections and reinforces the user's physical strength with occult energy. Suguru seems to be extremely adept at wielding the Floating Cloud, as this weapon enabled him to fight on equal terms against an enraged Yuta Okkotsu.
