10. Tatsu could return as an ally to those who spared his life

Tatsu is one of the many assassins from the Dondenkai Agency tasked with capturing Taro Sakamoto. A minor antagonist in the Amusement Park arc, he becomes the first major opponent for Shin Asakura, as the young assassin showcases his strength as both a fighter and clairvoyant to defeat Tatsu.

Although Tatsu doesn't play a significant role in the plot of Sakamoto Days, he remains one of the most interesting hitmen in the anime so far. He fights using deadly poisons and has an apathetic attitude that changes after his defeat, hinting at a potential return as an ally to the Sakamoto family.

9. Obiguro is a badass hitwoman whose only weakness is her crush on boiled food

Obiguro is the femme fatale assassin of the Dondenkai Agency and Boiled's partner, for whom she has a strong attraction. With impressive combat skills and a penchant for thrilling battles, she enjoys toying with her targets like a cat with its prey before granting them the mercy of death.

Obiguro's charm as a hitwoman doesn't lie in her combat prowess (though she is a formidable opponent), but in her desire to see her enemies' full potential in battle. This shows that she doesn't enjoy an easy victory; she prefers a fight that gives her the thrill of a challenge, as she is confident in her ability to defeat them.

8. Osaragi's beauty can take down any enemy in Sakamoto's time

Osaragi is one of the newest and youngest members of the Order, the elite force of the JAA. This group of the most powerful assassins in the agency maintains order in the criminal underworld. She makes her anime debut in episode 5, "Source of Strength," alongside a few other Order members, including her mentor, Shishiba.

Osaragi is a beautiful and elegant woman who, curiously, appears to be the only female member of the Order. Dressed in a dark bridal gown and sporting a face devoid of expression, she is a fascinating assassin who excites fans, eager to discover what makes someone like her talented enough to be considered an elite killer at such a young age.

7. Shishiba is an assassin crazier than what the anime has shown so far

Shishiba is a tall, distant man, a member of the Order, a group of the most powerful assassins in the Japanese Assassin Association (JAA). He first appears in episode 5 of the Sakamoto Days anime, where he prepares to eat before brutally stabbing the chef simply because there were onions in his dish.

Not much has been seen of Shishiba in the anime so far, but he was the first hitman from the Order (after Nagumo) to make a strong impression during his introduction. If he was so ruthless towards the chef for putting onions in the risotto, one can only imagine the insane danger he posed to his enemies and targets.

6. Boiled is the rival Sakamoto never asked for

Boiled is an assassin from the Dondenkai Agency and one of the main villains in the Amusement Park arc, covered in episodes 3 to 5 of the anime. Alongside Yoichi Nagumo, Boiled is a former colleague of Sakamoto from his days as a hitman, and he resents Sakamoto for retiring while he was at the peak of the hitman world.

Sakamoto was someone Boiled deeply admired, while also considering him both a rival and a friend. However, his existence was completely foreign to him. Despite his indifference, the respect Boiled has for him and his understanding of his life choices make him yet another assassin in the growing list of allies for the main character.

5. Kei Uzuki – aka Slur – will be a formidable enemy for Taro Sakamoto

Kei Uzuki is the assassin and main antagonist of Sakamoto Days, making his debut towards the end of episode 5 of the anime. According to Nagumo, he is known as "X" or "Slur." This nickname is given in reference to the "X" marks he leaves at each of his crime scenes.

As a hunter of hunters, Uzuki has eliminated over a quarter of Japan's assassins, about 400 hitmen, as noted by Shin. This means that before his official debut, Uzuki had already killed over a hundred specially trained killers, making him a formidable opponent for Sakamoto.

4. Heisuke Mashimo is the best boy of Sakamoto's time (second only to Piisuke)

Heisuke Mashimo is the young assassin that the Sakamoto team faces in episode 6 of the Sakamoto Days anime adaptation. He is one of many hitmen hired to eliminate the famous Sakamoto in order to claim the generous bounty. Heisuke was initially fired from his previous job, leaving him broke and relying solely on his sharpshooting skills to make ends meet.

Despite his profession, Heisuke is actually a rather kind-hearted character. He has a childlike side that makes the despair of his current situation amusingly pathetic. His comically "pathetic" behavior makes the moments when he demonstrates his insane sharpshooting talent all the more striking.

3. Shin Asakura’s sincere loyalty to Sakamoto makes him the purest character in the anime

Shin Asakura is the first person Taro Sakamoto meets since his days as a hitman – the first assassin to try and claim the bounty placed on Sakamoto’s head and the first to fail. However, Shin has also become a sort of adopted son to Sakamoto.

Shin is Sakamoto's most devoted friend. His loyalty is unshakeable as he eliminates other assassins attempting to kill Sakamoto in order to preserve the peace and happiness his former partner has found. He also possesses the gift of clairvoyance, which gives him a definite advantage over his opponents and allows him to understand Sakamoto without the latter needing to say a word.

2. Yoichi Nagumo effortlessly becomes a fan favorite with his laid-back personality

Yoichi Nagumo first makes an impression in episode 3 of the Sakamoto Days anime adaptation, disguising himself as a near-perfect copy of Taro Sakamoto and completely tricking Shin and Lu at the grocery store. He was only caught when the real Sakamoto appeared and unmasked him.

Nagumo has a carefree and mischievous personality, which earns him the ire of those around him, but his ever-smiling attitude is precisely what makes him such a fan-favorite character. He can almost rival Sakamoto in combat. He is a formidable assassin, both for his skills and his on-screen charisma.

1. Taro Sakamoto left his days as a hitman behind for happiness and peace

Taro Sakamoto is the star of Sakamoto Days, known in the Japanese underworld as the "Legendary Hitman." He possesses superhuman strength and agility, almost absurd levels, as well as senses that would make even the hunting abilities of the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise pale in comparison.

But what truly makes Sakamoto powerful is his incredible ability to improve the lives of young assassins and children from the criminal underworld, like Shin Asamura and Lu Shaotang. Sakamoto is the comedic equivalent of Gojo Satoru, a man capable of plunging the world into chaos, all while actively using his abilities for the good of others.
