Jinwoo Sung became a necromancer in the final episode of Solo Leveling Season 1, gaining the power to resurrect most of his fallen enemies as Shadow Soldiers who fight by his side.
Now an S-Rank Hunter capable of defeating powerful monsters and demons, Jinwoo stands among the strongest. However, other necromancers from various anime series might still be able to defeat him in battle. Some of these necromancers are human, others supernatural beings—and one of them is even a true god.

Many of these necromancers can counter Jinwoo’s Shadows with their own undead minions, leaving Jinwoo to rely solely on his superhuman abilities. While defeating him may seem like a daunting task, some necromancers could kill Jinwoo in mere seconds. Others would need to be more creative—but they still stand a real chance of taking him down.
10. Bleach: Giselle Gewelle (TYBW) can use her Schrift to add Jinwoo to her zombie army
Despite her harmless appearance, Giselle is one of the most dangerous villains in Bleach’s Thousand-Year Blood War arc. Her power, “The Zombie,” makes her one of the few Quincy with a Schrift capable of defeating Jinwoo in battle. Jinwoo wouldn’t be able to kill her, as Giselle is immortal while The Zombie is active. If her blood splashes on an enemy, they instantly become a zombie that must follow all her commands.
Giselle can turn other Quincy into zombies, though they must already be dead, which qualifies her as a necromancer. It takes a large amount of blood to zombify a Captain-level character with high spiritual energy. Since Jinwoo doesn’t have any spiritual energy, a small amount of blood would suffice to zombify him. Once that happens, Giselle could simply command Jinwoo to self-destruct.
9. One Piece: Gecko Moria can disintegrate Jinwoo with his Shadow-Shadow Fruit
Moria is a veteran pirate in One Piece who once served as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, one of the world’s Three Great Powers. He ate the Shadow-Shadow Fruit, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to manipulate and control shadows. He could steal shadows from living people and place them in corpses to create a zombie army.
In a normal one-on-one fight, Jinwoo would overpower Moria. However, the former Warlord could win if he manages to steal Jinwoo’s shadow. He could place it into a corpse, forcing Jinwoo to fight a zombie with identical strength. Without his shadow, Jinwoo’s body would disintegrate upon exposure to sunlight. So technically, if Moria steals his shadow on an open battlefield at noon, he could instantly kill Jinwoo.
8. Seven Deadly Sins: Melascula can trap Jinwoo in a deadly sphere of darkness
The Ten Commandments were among the strongest demons in Seven Deadly Sins, second only to the Demon King. Melascula wielded the Commandment of Faith, which caused anyone who showed disbelief in her presence to spontaneously combust. She can revive the dead using the spell Revival of the Vengeful Soul, though it only works if the soul retains some form of rage or attachment.
Melascula could normally melt Jinwoo with her demonic poison, but that would no longer work due to his immunity granted by the System. Instead, she could trap him inside her spell Cocoon of Darkness, an abyssal sphere seemingly destructible only by divine power. Her Darkness Cage spell fills the cocoon with chaotic energy, which would completely consume Jinwoo’s body and soul within 30 minutes.
7. Fairy Tail: Zeref Dragneel could obliterate Jinwoo with dark magic
Zeref is considered the most powerful dark mage in history, making him one of Fairy Tail’s most formidable villains. He used magic to resurrect his younger brother for a specific purpose. Even if Jinwoo wanted to, he couldn’t kill Zeref—cursed by the god Ankhseram, Zeref is immortal and has near-instant regeneration. In battle, he could summon an army of demons to counter Jinwoo’s Shadows.
While Jinwoo might withstand most of his regular spells, Zeref’s Black Magic could eliminate him in seconds. This magic allows Zeref to kill anything he desires. For instance, Death Predation unleashes a wave that kills everything around him. Death Orb could pierce through Jinwoo’s body entirely. If needed, Zeref could even freeze time around Jinwoo to ensure his spells land.
6. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Adalman can erase Jinwoo with holy and dark magic
Adalman, a lich-like being, is the guardian of the 70th floor in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Thanks to the Necronomicon, he can telepathically command an army of the undead, allowing him to summon a force to rival Jinwoo’s Shadow Soldiers. Adalman can sense Jinwoo’s killing intent and attacks using Universal Perception and defend himself with multilayered barriers.
Despite his unholy form, Adalman can wield Sacred Magic at both elemental and divine levels. His most powerful offensive spell, Disintegration, can completely erase its target. To use it, he must trap Jinwoo within a specific geometric formation—if successful, Jinwoo’s entire body and soul would be wiped from existence.
5. Hades from Saint Seiya can destroy Jinwoo with his divine powers
Hades is the God of the Underworld and the main antagonist of Saint Seiya. He has complete control over the Underworld and all its undead servants. His personal army is composed of 108 Specters, but technically, he can unleash as many lost souls as he wants against Jinwoo’s Shadows. Hades can counter Jinwoo’s telekinesis with his own, and he should be able to match his strength and speed. His divine perception would also nullify Jinwoo’s Stealth skill.
Thanks to Athena’s shield, Hades can block Jinwoo’s dagger strikes, while his sword can wound Jinwoo’s soul and physically weaken him. Hades can kill Jinwoo with the Lost Canvas technique, but he must first depict him on the canvas. At full power, his Greatest Eclipse technique can destroy both Jinwoo’s body and soul using the powers of Hell and the Solar System.
4. Orochimaru from Naruto can overwhelm Jinwoo with the Reanimation Jutsu
Orochimaru is one of the most dangerous villains in Naruto and one of the most powerful ninjas in history. He has mastered hundreds of techniques, including the forbidden Reanimation Jutsu. Using it, Orochimaru brought the First and Second Hokage back to life and controlled them by inserting a special talisman into their bodies. This technique is forbidden because each resurrection requires a living sacrifice.
If Orochimaru revives Kage-level ninjas with this jutsu, they will have unlimited chakra and immortality, allowing them to destroy Jinwoo’s Shadows until his mana is depleted. In this scenario, the reanimated ninjas could overwhelm Jinwoo by attacking together. Orochimaru could also join the battle himself. Jinwoo might be able to handle a single ninja, but multiple Kage-level opponents using their strongest techniques would eventually defeat him.
3. Is This a Zombie? Eucliwood Hellscythe can defeat Jinwoo with a single word
Jinwoo may be on his way to becoming a god, but no matter how powerful he is, Eucliwood from Is This a Zombie? can defeat him. Despite her innocent appearance, Eucliwood has the power to distort reality, and all she needs to do is speak. She manipulates the threads of fate with her words. This power allows Eucliwood to bring people back to life, and there doesn’t appear to be a limit to her resurrection ability.
If Eucliwood can revive someone with a single word, she can just as easily kill someone the same way. She could end Jinwoo’s life by simply saying “die,” and he would have no means of defending himself. His Shadows wouldn’t fare any better, as she could just say “vanish” and they would disappear. While Eucliwood can equip armor and a scythe, engaging Jinwoo in one-on-one combat would be pointless.
2. Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto from Bleach can vaporize Jinwoo with his Bankai
Captain-Commander Yamamoto founded the Thirteen Court Guard Squads and led them for over a thousand years because he was considered the most powerful Shinigami in the Soul Society. His spiritual energy is immense, but his most devastating weapon is his Zanpakutō. Ryūjin Jakka is the oldest and most powerful fire-type Zanpakutō, and the flames it emits in its Shikai form can burn almost anything to ashes.
Zanka no Tachi is arguably the most powerful Bankai in Bleach, allowing Yamamoto to summon the skeletons of anyone incinerated by his Zanpakutō. These skeletons fight for him. As long as Zanka no Tachi is active, all of Ryūjin Jakka’s flames are condensed into the blade. Yamamoto could obliterate Jinwoo with a single strike. Jinwoo would be unable to attack effectively, as Yamamoto’s body would be cloaked in a thermal barrier reaching up to 15 million degrees.
1. Ainz Ooal Gown from Overlord can defeat Jinwoo with high-level spells
Ainz is the main protagonist of Overlord and is considered the most powerful spellcaster in the world, capable of using over 700 spells. He is even considered one of the most overpowered anime characters. Ainz can summon undead servants strong enough to fight Jinwoo’s Shadows. Even though Jinwoo has Igris and other Shadow spellcasters, Ainz can deal more damage than all of them combined. He can annihilate Jinwoo’s Shadows using powerful fireballs and the black flames of the Hellfire spell.
Ainz can significantly weaken Jinwoo by draining his levels with the Energy Drain spell. This level 8 spell could theoretically reduce Jinwoo to an E-rank Hunter, after which Ainz could destroy him with a level 1 spell. If Ainz uses the Grasp Heart spell, he can instantly kill Jinwoo by crushing his heart. This is the most likely outcome, as it is Ainz’s favorite spell.
