Tanjiro & Nezuko Painting - Demon Slayer™

30. "I will always be your little sister!"

Entertainment District Arc, Episode 11, "No Matter How Many Lives"

The Entertainment District Arc concludes with one of the most spectacular fights in Demon Slayer. Led by Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu face off against the Upper Moons, Gyutaro and Daki, in their most intense battle yet. While Demon Slayer delves into the hidden humanity within the demons' pasts, Gyutaro and Daki have a tragic backstory. As they pass into the afterlife, Gyutaro is condemned to an eternity in Hell, while Daki is welcomed into Heaven, as she is seen primarily as a victim.

"No matter how many times I am reborn, I will always be your little sister!" – Daki

Gyutaro harshly tells Daki to let go, but she refuses to leave his side. Daki says this line in tears, holding onto Gyutaro’s back. It's an incredibly inspiring and comforting moment, as despite their wrongdoings, Gyutaro and Daki love each other. Daki would never give up her brother, no matter the cost. She may be young, but she isn’t afraid to face the flames of Hell for her older brother.

29. "As long as you don't despise yourself, everything will be fine."

Entertainment District Arc, Episode 5, "Things Are About to Get Really Flashy!"

Tengen is amazing on his own, but fans can't help but love his three wives. Hinatsuru, Makio, and Suma each have very different personalities, but their affection for each other and for Tengen is obvious. All three were trained as kunoichi, with instructions never to put their lives first—completing a mission is paramount, even if it means death. When Tengen appears to save Suma and Makio from Daki's belts, Makio has a flashback of Tengen telling his wives that they would always come first to him.

"I’m sure it’s not bad to want to live or not want to die... As long as you don’t despise yourself, everything will be fine." – Hinatsuru Uzui

This is why he advises them to always return alive and take care of themselves. Makio isn’t sure how to feel, as it goes against the kunoichi ideals, but Hinatsuru comforts her with this quote. It’s a soft and reassuring moment as Makio realizes the importance of her own life, especially for those around her. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to live, and it’s not selfish to continue living—it's normal to make choices for one’s own life.

28. "Tanjiro created this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"

Entertainment District Arc, Episode 10, "Never Give Up"

Zenitsu may be an annoying character at times, but his Thunder Breathing technique is nothing short of impressive. Zenitsu surprises both viewers and characters with his combat skills, displayed during the Entertainment District Arc. Despite his talents, the fight against Daki is tough: she manages to hold her own against Inosuke and Zenitsu for a long time, while Tengen and Tanjiro face Gyutaro. When all hope seems lost, Tanjiro manages to take the upper hand against Gyutaro. Zenitsu then attempts to cut her throat.

"Tanjiro created this once-in-a-lifetime chance! I’m going to slice [Daki], I’m sure of it!" – Zenitsu Agatsuma

This quote is inspiring because Zenitsu knows there’s no room for error. He won’t get a second chance if he messes up, which is why he knows he won't fail. Zenitsu puts all his willpower and strength into his attack because it’s their last shot. He may be cowardly and loud at times, but Zenitsu is capable of being a symbol of strength and hope when it’s really needed.

27. "I fought, believing that I must protect Sayo, no matter what."

Hashira Training Arc, Episode 7, "Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima"

If nearly every character in Demon Slayer has a tragic backstory, Gyomei, the Stone Hashira, has one of the most cruel. During the Hashira Training Arc, Tanjiro spends time with Gyomei and learns about his past. Gyomei once took in and cared for many children, loving them as his own. However, one dark night, all the children except one were massacred by a demon. Sayo, a little girl, was the only one left behind by Gyomei, and he knew he had to protect her.

"I fought, believing that I must protect Sayo, no matter what." – Gyomei Himejima

As Gyomei says this line, the flashback shows him fighting the demon with his bare hands. The scene reveals Gyomei's superhuman strength, which he only discovers through his deep will to save Sayo. Gyomei is still horrified by the brutal massacre of the demon, but in the moment, he couldn’t stop. Many people, driven by the desire to protect a loved one, find they are capable of strengths they never knew they had.

26. "If there’s a way... I must keep trying to find it."

Season 1, Episode 24, "Recovery Training"

Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira, always smiles, but rage boils beneath her veins. Shinobu says this line to Tanjiro, but he asks her if she’s angry. Initially shocked, Shinobu then shares her backstory with Tanjiro. Shinobu lost her older sister, Kanae Kocho, at the hands of the Upper Moon demon, Doma. Since then, Shinobu has harbored a deep hatred for demons, a hatred that makes her constantly furious.

"If there is a way to not kill these pitiful demons, I must continue trying to find it." – Shinobu Kocho

This quote is significant because, after learning about Shinobu’s past, she reveals that Kanae was a lot like Tanjiro—she also had sympathy for demons. This is why Shinobu seeks to fulfill her sister’s wishes, even though it’s not something that resonates with her own desire for vengeance. The context makes this quote inspiring. Shinobu has no problem putting her own desires aside because she cares more about her sister’s life than her own vengeance.

25. "I will never lose to evil people!"

Swordsmith Village Arc, Episode 10, "Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji"

Mitsuri finally dazzles viewers with her beautiful fighting style during her battle against Hantengu and his demon-turned emotions. As the situation looks grim for Tanjiro, Genya, and Nezuko, Mitsuri arrives gracefully to save them. Though Hantengu is tough, Mitsuri knows she will never back down.

"I will never lose to evil people!" – Mitsuri Kanroji

Mitsuri proves her determination with this line. What she says here is the core theme of Demon Slayer. Even in the face of demons who seem invincible, nothing is stronger than the hope and kindness that dwell in the hearts of people. Mitsuri isn’t the only one fighting with this philosophy; she merely echoes the thoughts and feelings of everyone fighting alongside her. Demons cannot win because evil will never overcome good.

24. "The Demon Slayer Corps has never been eradicated."

Hashira Training Arc, Episode 8, "The Hashira Unite"

With the help of Gyomei, Master Ubuyashiki decides to use himself as bait for Muzan. When Muzan appears before Ubuyashiki in his fragile state, Muzan immediately tries to mock him. Muzan doesn’t stop with Ubuyashiki; he calls humans and their emotions "worthless." Yet, Ubuyashiki doesn’t let himself be discouraged. Instead, he interprets this conversation with Muzan as a warning about humanity's greatest strength: its unshakable will.

"Over the past thousand years... the Demon Slayer Corps has never been eradicated. So many of my poor children have perished... And yet, it still exists." – Kagaya Ubuyashiki

Ubuyashiki’s quote is chilling. Not because it inspires fear, but because it is the truth. Ubuyashiki has seen countless demon slayers and civilians die at the hands of Muzan and his demons. However, humanity will never stop fighting. Muzan can never win because there will always be demon slayers to track him down and protect the world. This idea is the foundation of the Demon Slayer concept.

23. "You’re the one who’s going to Hell, Muzan!"

Hashira Training Arc, Episode 8, "The Hashira Unite"

Season 4 concludes in the most epic way with Muzan trapping the Demon Slayers in his Infinite Castle. As the united Hashira charge Muzan with all their might, the ground opens beneath their feet. The final scenes of the episode are breathtaking and electrifying, sending chills down the viewers’ spines. As the Hashira fall, Tanjiro manages to briefly land before Muzan, and it is then that he shouts this line.

"You’re the one going to Hell, Muzan! You won’t get out, no matter what!" – Tanjiro Kamado

Ces deux perso seront cruciaux dans l'arc final de Demon Slayer selon les fans - Dexerto.fr

What makes this quote so inspiring is the stirring music, fitting for any final battle. Everything in the series has led up to this final confrontation. Tanjiro yells these words with all his emotion. No one but Muzan is there to hear him; it’s an inspiring quote for the viewers themselves. The scene is so charged that it perfectly excites all viewers and sets the stage for what’s to come.

22. "I was afraid, so I held back my power."

Swordsmith Village Arc, Episode 10, "Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji"

As Mitsuri comes to save Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya from the clutches of Hantengu, she ends up taking a beating. She initially manages to contain Hantengu but quickly becomes exhausted. However, as Hantengu’s Zohakuten launches a new attack, Mitsuri starts having flashbacks of her life. Due to her beastly strength, she was often considered strange and unwanted.

"Would they still say that I couldn’t be human? I was afraid, so I held back my power. But not anymore!" – Mitsuri Kanroji

Because of her past, Mitsuri began to distrust her strength. However, she realizes that with her strength, she can save Tanjiro and his companions. Mitsuri’s growth is incredible. No matter what she was told before, the most important thing is to protect those she cares about. She accepts herself as she is. Being different doesn’t make her weird, but rather stronger.

21. "My repetitive movement starts with imagining the faces of my loved ones."

Hashira Training Arc, Episode 6, "The Strongest of the Demon Slayer Corps"

While some manga fans doubted the importance of the Demon Slayer manga's Hashira Training Arc, the anime surprised many. This arc mainly focuses on preparing for the final battle but is filled with moments rich in lessons and emotions. During the Stone Hashira's training, the young Demon Slayers must find the will and strength to push enormous boulders. Unsurprisingly, these boulders are almost impossible to move.

"My repetitive movement starts with imagining the faces of my loved ones. And also remembering Mr. Rengoku’s words." – Tanjiro Kamado

A central element of Tanjiro’s character is his willpower. This quote comes from Tanjiro as he dives into his mind, finding his strength. Tanjiro's true strength lies in the love he has for his family and friends. It is because of them that he is so strong. With echoes of his family and Rengoku in his mind, Tanjiro manages to move the boulder. It’s a beautiful moment, as Tanjiro will always find the strength to protect humanity.

20. "Don’t run away from your responsibilities!"

Swordsmith Village Arc, Episode 10, "Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji"

As Mitsuri continues fighting Zohakuten, Tanjiro and Genya chase after the fleeing Hantengu. For such a powerful and arrogant demon, his flight is pathetic and dishonorable. Of course, he mocks the fear that the many humans he has killed must have felt in their final moments. Yet, when Hantengu realizes he’s going to lose, he panics.

"Don’t run away from your responsibilities! For every sin you’ve committed! For every wrong you’ve done! I will make you pay for everything you’ve done!" – Tanjiro Kamado

Kamado Backpack - Demon Slayer™

Tanjiro shouts this at Hantengu while the chase continues. Though eager to eradicate demons, Tanjiro is a compassionate soul who feels great empathy for lost demons. What he cannot stand, however, is a killer who cowers in his final moments. This quote is so inspiring because Tanjiro wants Hantengu to acknowledge his crimes and accept his defeat. There is honor in holding on until the end. There is no honor in fleeing.

19. "There is no other path to follow."

Season 1, Episode 3, "Sabito and Makomo"

At the time, Tanjiro didn't know that Sabito and Makomo were the ghosts of former students of Sakonji Urokodaki, who had died during their training. By training with the one who would later avenge their deaths, they taught him one of the most important lessons he needed to learn at that moment: there was no turning back, no matter how desperately he wished it.

There is no way forward but to move forward. – Sabito

Tanjiro's awareness of the world's darkness was forever altered by the brutal massacre of his family, and he couldn't change that. This old saying still resonates because it applies to many situations. It is impossible to go back and change the past. The only possible path is to move forward in the darkness until, at the end, the light returns.

18. "Feel the rage."

 Season 1, Episode 1, "Cruelty"

When Giyu tells Tanjiro that he should allow himself to feel the rage he experienced at the loss of his family, it seems like negative advice; after all, anger is often associated with negativity. But anger can be a driving force, and Giyu’s sentiment is actually more inspiring than it seems at first. Being angry is not necessarily bad; it can give courage and bravery in the right situations.

Feel the rage. The powerful and pure rage of not being able to forgive will become your unwavering motivation to act. – Giyu Tomioka

If Tanjiro gives in to despair, he will not be able to avenge his family or move forward. Instead, Giyu advises him to use his anger to his advantage. And if handled correctly, most people can channel their anger and frustration to use them for their benefit rather than against themselves. It's natural for Tanjiro to be angry; that doesn't make him a bad person, but it gives him a reason to fight.

17. "Always live your life with great pride."

Season 1, Episode 15, "Mount Natagumo"

When Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke are resting at Hisa's place after their fight with Kyogai at the Tsuzumi mansion, she takes great care of them. Although Zenitsu and Inosuke constantly call her an old witch, she lets them go with a traditional blessing and reminds them to always be proud of who they are. Whether fighting dangerous demons or simply going about their daily activities, it is important to hold your head high.

Always live with pride. I wish you good luck in the fight. – Hisa

This also implies making the right choices and avoiding actions that might bring shame. Even if this might seem old-fashioned, it's still relevant today. There's no need to fight your own demons to be proud. Sometimes, simply following a good path in life is reason enough to keep your head high and take pride in your accomplishments.

16. "You have no choice but to keep living."

Season 1, Episode 7, "Muzan Kibutsuji"

Here is another quote about Tanjiro's losses, but this one comes from Tanjiro himself. As one of the few members of his family still alive, he realizes that he must keep going, even if the idea seems unappealing in his grief. And this is a revelation that many people must face when experiencing loss. It’s a harsh reality, and it's not easy to move on.

No matter how many people you lose, you have no choice but to keep living, even if the blows are devastating. – Tanjiro Kamado

It's not easy to pick yourself up and live, and many are tempted to wallow in darkness until only grief and sadness remain. It may seem cruel, but life goes on. However, moving forward doesn’t mean forgetting those who are gone or the sorrow. It’s a way to honor those who have fallen and live for them. Finding a way to rise up and overcome the hard knocks of life is an integral part of the process.

15. "There’s nothing wrong with doing things a little differently."

Demon Slayer, The Entertainment District Arc Movie

Faced with a potential defeat against Gyutaro, Tengen reminisces about his past. He had questioned everything to become a shinobi, which sometimes made him feel like he had made too many mistakes. As he lay unconscious on the ground, he saw Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, who reminded him that it’s okay to pave your own path.

There’s nothing wrong with doing things a little differently. – Kyojuro Rengoku

This advice applies to many aspects of life, whether it’s defeating higher-ranked demons, solving a complex problem, or simply choosing who you want to be. Kyojuro Rengoku lived his life to the fullest, savoring every bite and relishing the pleasure it brought. His approach might seem strange to those around him, but he was completely comfortable in his own skin.

14. "Just like me, they were human too."

Season 1, Episode 2, "Sakonji Urokodaki"

When Urokodaki meets Tanjiro for the first time, he states that the boy will not become a promising demon slayer if he continues to feel empathy for demons. But Tanjiro's ability to empathize with others (even those who don't deserve it) proves to be one of his strengths throughout the anime. And this quote helps viewers understand why.

Those who regret their actions, I will never trample on them. Because demons were once humans too. Just like me, they were human. – Tanjiro Kamado

After what happened to Nezuko, Tanjiro understands better than anyone that demons were once human, just like him. And even though he must now eliminate them as they have started killing innocents, Tanjiro understands that they were not always monsters. He does not take pleasure in defeating them. Tanjiro’s driving force is his compassion and kindness, and many viewers and characters can draw inspiration from him.

13. "All I know how to do is work hard! It’s the story of my life!"

Season 1, Episode 2, "Sakonji Urokodaki"

From the very first episode, it’s clear that Tanjiro values hard work, and this quote only confirms that. At first, he seems more than willing to do anything to provide for his family. Even after their loss, he devotes all his time and energy to saving Nezuko and becoming the best demon slayer he can be.

All I know is to work hard! It’s the story of my life! – Tanjiro Kamado

It’s a simple quote, but it speaks to Tanjiro’s work ethic. He knows full well that hard work eventually pays off. And even though there are always obstacles to overcome, hard work can be rewarding, especially when it bears fruit. Tanjiro’s entire story is based on his unwavering determination and willpower. With determination and hard work, anything is possible.

12. "All you’ve done is memorize a fact."

Season 1, Episode 3, "Sabito and Mamoko"

Sabito says this to Tanjiro during their training, claiming that Tanjiro’s failure to master his water breathing technique is the reason he can’t cut the rock Urokodaki presents. Sabito's comment applies to anyone who has studied a subject but has not yet mastered its practical application. Just because someone knows something in theory does not mean they have enough experience to master it.

You’ve only memorized a fact. Your body has no idea what it’s supposed to do. – Sabito

However, practice can often change things. Being bad at something can be frustrating, but it’s important to persevere. Mistakes are acceptable, but how you handle them shapes your character. Trying again and never giving up is key in life. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect.

11. "It’s not about going first. It’s about the overall flow."

Season 1, Episode 15, "Mount Natagumo"

Inosuke says this to Tanjiro during the Mount Natagumo arc, and while it’s primarily a remark about his fighting style, it applies to many other situations. Inosuke acts on impulse, rather than analyzing every detail like Tanjiro does. While no method is necessarily better than the other, they both work well for each individual.

What’s important isn’t going first. It’s the overall flow. – Inosuke Hashibira

Inosuke’s words are just as true outside of battle. Being the first to act doesn’t matter if you’re not fully committed or doing your best. We often think that acting first makes us unique because we experience something before everyone else, but experiences, like those of Tanjiro and Inosuke, are different for each person.

10. "Don’t cry, even if you have regrets!"

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, the Movie

Inosuke has a rather unique view of life. He tends to shout and often struggles to remember Tanjiro’s name. So hearing him express such a deep thought sheds new light on his personality. Beneath his rough exterior lies a heart of gold, one that knows how important it is to keep living, even when life seems tough.

Don’t cry, even if you have regrets! Even if you feel pitiful or humiliated, you must keep living! – Inosuke Hashibira

The fact that Inosuke spends a lot of time shouting makes this experience even more profound, as if he’s lost all capacity to feel humiliation. Whether it's because he was raised by a boar or from some other life lesson learned alone in the world, it’s clear that he’s overcome many hardships. Feelings of inadequacy and humiliation don’t slow him down, but it's almost certain that he’s learned to push through the hard way.

9. "Destiny is about to take a dramatic turn."

Entertainment District Arc, Episode 2, "No Matter How Many Lives"

Kagaya Ubuyashiki had long observed the reign of darkness; he had seen countless deaths and endured many sufferings. When he learned that the Demon Slayers had defeated a High-Rank Demon, he was overjoyed. For the first time in his life, things began to look up, which meant they would no longer be doomed to suffer under Muzan's eternal reign, the Demon King.

Destiny is about to take a dramatic turn! The consequences will be immense. – Kagaya Ubuyashiki

Given his health, he never expected to live to see such a turning point, but it was a glorious moment long awaited. Demon Slayer is full of reminders, both in the manga and anime, that giving up should never be an option. No matter the difficulties, no matter how long it takes, one must always persevere.

8. "I can do it. I know I can do it."

Season 1, Episode 13, "Something More Important Than Life"

Tanjiro’s optimism carries him through all the trials he faces in the first season of Demon Slayer, and his statement perfectly illustrates why he is able to overcome so many challenges. He sees himself as someone who gets things done and never doubts his own abilities. These traits in Tanjiro would be beneficial to many and would certainly help viewers overcome their own doubts.

I can do it. I know I can do it. I'm the one who makes it happen, fractures or not. No matter what happens, I can do it! I can fight! – Tanjiro Kamado

The recurring theme of never giving up is ever-present throughout the series. Tanjiro doesn't always persevere despite the obstacles, but he is one of the first to convince himself to get back up, get back on track, and continue striving toward his goals. Tanjiro's story is truly inspiring, and he never fails to say the most triumphant words.

7. "Who cares if you don't recognize me?"

Entertainment District Arc, Episode 1, "Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui"

Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, is one of the most extravagant characters in Demon Slayer, but beneath his flashy appearance lies a heart of gold. While this quote may seem less inspiring than others, a deeper reading paints a picture of Tengen that's hard to miss. He is flashy, yes, but he takes pride in who he is. No matter who is watching, he will continue doing what he does best because his confidence is at its peak.

Who cares if you don't recognize me? – Tengen Uzui

Too often, people get caught up in what others think of them. They act or behave a certain way because they want to be recognized, but most of the time, they are not true to themselves. Tengen's indifference to what others think of him is inspiring. He never lets himself go or puts on a show to impress others. He simply goes through life being exactly who he wants to be.

6. "If you can do one thing, perfect it."

Season 1, Episode 16, "Let Someone Else Go First"

Zenitsu's instructor, Jigoro, gives him this advice when he's training to master his Thunder Breathing technique. It's advice that Zenitsu applies throughout the series. Zenitsu is anxious and fearful, but he's also brave and powerful. We see Jigoro's words remain etched in Zenitsu's mind during his flashbacks as he fights a Spider Demon on Mount Natagumo.

If you can do one thing, perfect it. Perfect it to the extreme. – Jigoro Kuwajima

Although Jigoro says this in regard to demon slaying, this quote applies to any craft. If someone is good at something, they should invest in perfecting that skill. By going "to the maximum," they are likely to become an expert. It's a bit like "jack of all trades, master of none." Wanting to be perfect at everything means that, most likely, you'll be perfect at nothing. However, choosing one skill allows you to master it.

5. "Never give up."

Season 1, Episode 17, "You Must Master One Thing"

This quote is a sentiment that Zenitsu expresses during and after his battle with the Spider Demon on Mount Natagumo. Poisoned and exhausted, he refuses to give up, forcing himself to defeat the demon despite the physical pain. Given how difficult it is for Zenitsu to be brave, this is an inspiring moment and another reminder of the importance of persevering, even when things don't go as planned.

Never give up. Even if it's painful, even if it's scary, don't look for the easy way out. – Zenitsu Agatsuma

Refusing to give up, despite discomfort, is a foolproof way to reach one's goals. Zenitsu is right: the easy way leads to nothing. This is advice that many could benefit from remembering during the toughest times. Demon Slayer is, above all, about self-overcoming and never giving up on the hope within.

4. "But anyone who can create a poison capable of killing demons can be pretty amazing."

Season 1, Episode 15, "Mount Natagumo"

This quote from Shinobu carries a powerful message. While she could easily sulk about being the only Hashira who cannot decapitate a demon, she decides to focus on what she can do. She claims that her strengths make her a formidable opponent despite her shortcomings, and her will to keep fighting is inspiring.

I may be the only female swordsman among the Pillars who cannot decapitate a demon, but anyone who creates poison capable of killing demons is simply incredible. – Shinobu Kocho

It's not always easy to value your strengths, especially when they are so different from others. Taking the time to appreciate the things that are easy, rather than focusing on the impossible or the difficult, boosts self-confidence. Everyone could use that! Shinobu doesn't dwell on her shortcomings. She knows her strengths and exploits them.

3. "Ignite your heart."

Infinity Train Arc, Episode 7, "Ignite Your Heart"

Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, failed in his mission and succumbed to a fatal injury after a fierce battle in the Infinity Train arc. Tanjiro was overwhelmed with sadness, while the incredibly powerful Hashira was dying, but Kyojuro wouldn't allow it. In his last breath, he encouraged Tanjiro to stay strong and ignited his heart.

If you ever feel discouraged, if you think you're not good enough, ignite your heart. – Kyojuro Rengoku

Kyojuro's advice stays with Tanjiro throughout his journey, reminding him that his determination will always drive him forward. They barely knew each other, but the short time they spent fighting side by side was enough to reveal what kind of man Kyojuro was and the tragic void his death would leave. Even without Rengoku, his spirit lives on in the remaining Demon Slayers and the anime.

2. "Everything you do for others will eventually come back to you."

Swordsmith Village Arc, Episode 3, "A Sword Over 300 Years Old"

Spending one-on-one time with each Hashira was a unique experience for Tanjiro, and Muichiro’s stoic silence and introspection initially made him a bit distant and wary. During a conversation at the Swordsmith Village, Tanjiro suggested going to find Haganezuka with him, which took Muichiro by surprise. When he asked Tanjiro why he cared so much for others before seeking to satisfy his own needs, Tanjiro's response took the Wind Pillar by surprise.

Everything you do for others eventually helps you. – Tanjiro Kamado

Muichiro is the youngest of the Hashira, only 14 years old. As his backstory is explored in more detail during the Swordsmith Village arc, viewers realize that he hasn't known much kindness in his short life. It's no wonder he was surprised to meet someone as selfless and generous as Tanjiro, who often seems too good to be true in the eyes of those around him.

Gyomei Figure - Demon Slayer™

1. "Thank God!"

Swordsmith Village Arc, Episode 11, "A Connected Bond: Dawn and the First Light" Discover our Gyomei "Sutra" Figurine

It's such a simple phrase, thankfully, but it plays a major role in the final episode of season 4. Every time it's repeated, it's in response to Nezuko's survival against the rising sun. Tanjiro believed she had been reduced to ashes, and in his grief, everything he had fought for so hard had crumbled. When he sees his sister standing in the sunlight, not only alive but also responsive and able to speak for the first time since nearly being killed by Muzan, he repeats his words: "Thank God."

Thank God! – Tanjiro Kamado

It's enough to bring tears to the viewer's eyes, and it's a source of inspiration because the moment itself lingers long after the credits roll. After everything that happened at the Swordsmith Village, Tanjiro doesn't think about the pain he feels. He doesn't thank the gods watching over him for surviving the most brutal encounter he's ever known. He is simply grateful that his sister is alive and that he still has time to save her. That's all that matters to him.
