In One Piece, the Straw Hat Pirates are constantly traveling to new locations. During their visits, they often wear new outfits that reflect the overall tone of their respective arcs.
While characters like Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro are often the most noticed for their costume changes, another member of the Straw Hats has undergone more outfit changes than any of their peers: Nami, the navigator.

Since the beginning of One Piece, the orange-haired navigator has regularly changed outfits, leaving her with an extensive list of high-quality clothing to sort through. Nearly all of them help bring her character to life, but some are truly unique. After all, Nami tends to go shopping every time the Straw Hat crew arrives on a new island, which has resulted in a delightful wardrobe that keeps her looking fresh.
Updated on February 15, 2025, by Natasha Elder: Nami in One Piece is known for her sharp fashion sense. Over the course of the series, she has accumulated increasingly cute and noteworthy outfits, whether for their style, their insight into Nami’s character, or both. We’ve decided to highlight her best looks and explain why these outfits stand out.
25. Nami's Egghead Island Outfit in Soft Pink
The matching headphones make it stand out
The arrival at Egghead Island was a shock, given the usual simplicity of One Piece. Holographic giants fought epic battles, and an automatic vending machine provided seemingly endless food. Even the clothes were unique: shoes that allowed the wearer to fly or stay grounded, depending on Vegapunk's will. Nami, like the rest of the Straw Hat crew, was dressed according to the island's fashion.
Though Nami's soft pink outfit is one of her more original looks, it lacks the flair of many of her other outfits, explaining its lower ranking. However, it's worth noting the inclusion of the functional yet stylish headphones, which allow her to communicate remotely, a feature common in Nami's clothing.
24. Nami's Return Outfit in Sabaody Simple but charming with a new hairstyle
After the time skip in One Piece, the Straw Hat crew reunited at Sabaody Archipelago. Some returned with new outfits and features, like Franky's customizable hairstyle and his enhanced cyborg body. Nami, ever the fashion-conscious woman, returned with a new outfit to dazzle One Piece fans.
Before the time skip, the former thief had always worn short hair that emphasized her youth. Upon returning to Sabaody, she radiated with long hair, paired with a green top and low-rise jeans that accentuated her adult figure. It’s a rather basic look, overshadowed by other standout outfits of Nami, but it still pleases fans with its simple charm.
23. Nami's Sabaody Archipelago Outfit with a Floral Shirt
The understated look fits the island's vacation vibe
While One Piece's Grand Line is filled with surreal locations, few are as stunning as the Sabaody Archipelago. The last island of Paradise (the first half of the Grand Line) is filled with towering mangroves and beautiful bubbles, making it the perfect backdrop for one of Nami's prettiest outfits. The floral pattern complements the laid-back vibe of Sabaody after the Straw Hat crew’s frantic adventure at Thriller Bark.
Compared to most of Nami’s outfits, the orange floral shirt she wears during the Sabaody Archipelago arc is quite understated. However, it perfectly matches the dreamy atmosphere of the island before things take a turn for the worse. This arc is Nami's last complete one before the time skip in One Piece, and her outfit serves as a goodbye to the Old World.
22. Nami's Outfit in Strong World
Simplicity and elegance highlight Nami’s cold attitude towards Shiki
Despite one of the worst moments of her life, Nami manages to stay elegant when forced to join Shiki's crew. Reminding her of her past involuntary partnership with a pirate, as well as her general past in East Blue, Nami keeps her composure despite her tumultuous feelings about the situation. The simplicity and beauty of her outfit underscore her cold reception of Shiki’s offers, with her attire being much more reserved than what she typically wears with the Straw Hats.
Furthermore, this outfit reflected her bond with the other crew members. Unbeknownst to her, they too wore dark, elegant clothing, showing that despite the distance, she remained a strong part of the crew, reinforcing the strength of her connection with her comrades.
21. Nami's Punk Hazard Outfit is Warm and Stylish.
The rare cold climate context lets Nami show off her wardrobe range
No island in One Piece has as varied a climate as Punk Hazard. A fierce battle between the Marine’s top admirals, Akainu and Aokiji, split the island into two drastically different climates: one filled with lava, the other with icy tundra. It’s the perfect setting for Nami to showcase the depth of her wardrobe.
As the Straw Hat Pirates explore the frozen part of Punk Hazard, Nami temporarily wears a long black coat and pink gloves, perfectly suited to the occasion. Cold environments are rare in One Piece, and this cozy outfit added much-needed depth to her winter wardrobe. Though simple, this rare winter outfit makes up for its lack of sophistication.
20. Nami’s Elbaph Outfit is Both Cute and Fierce
This outfit fits the giant island’s vibe
After hastily leaving Egghead Island, the Straw Hat Pirates head towards Elbaph. As is customary in the post-time skip era of One Piece, this new arc brings a wardrobe change for all the Straw Hats. Nami wakes up confused after being kidnapped and finds herself in a brand-new Elbaph outfit. The reason for her new look is quickly revealed.
Nami’s trendy new outfit is a common style on Elbaph. The heavy fur cape and metal clasps are key elements of the attire of the giants. Additionally, Nami’s hair is braided, reflecting the style of many of Elbaph's giant women. Though this outfit is relatively recent, placing it at number 20, it’s definitely one of Nami’s most stunning looks.
19. Nami’s Red Dress in Loguetown is Elegant
Though worn briefly, it leaves a strong impression
The Straw Hats face tough times during the Loguetown arc, but before they’re forced to leave quickly, Nami dazzles. During her visit to Loguetown, Nami goes shopping and tries on various outfits. Among them, the combination of a red dress and a white animal-print scarf makes the most lasting impression.
Although Nami doesn’t keep this outfit, it’s reminiscent of the one she’ll wear in the Whole Cake Island arc of One Piece. Her carefree smile over her shoulder and the way her tattoo is highlighted add to the elegance of her look. Following the Arlong Park arc, her tattoo and carefree smile bring a sense of joy.
18. Nami’s Skypiea Outfit is Iconic for a Sky Island Adventure
Unusually, Nami sports pigtails to complete her new look
The Skypiea arc, set at the edge of Isekai, stands as one of the most unique in One Piece. It was only fitting that Nami’s outfit would stand out as well. Her hair is notably different on the mythical island, styled in pigtails, a departure from her usual bob cut. Additionally, Nami wears a playful top adorned with cloud motifs, which complements Skypiea’s scenery.
Her bikini top perfectly matches the beach setting where the Straw Hats relax upon their arrival at the Sky Island. While the outfit is relatively simple, its unique design and alignment with the arc make it one of Nami’s most successful looks. Though it doesn't rival the best outfits in her wardrobe, the cloud motif is a testament to Oda’s attention to detail.
17. Nami’s Water 7 Outfit Gives Her a Professional Look
The relatively conservative nature of the outfit contrasts with Nami’s other wardrobe choices
Nami’s outfits typically accentuate her silhouette, especially after the two-year time skip. However, Eiichiro Oda changed things up for the Water 7 arc by introducing a more unconventional look for her. This outfit successfully defies audience expectations by being relatively more conservative than what she usually wears.
The blue button-up shirt and tie are unusually masculine for Nami, while the high-hem skirt gives her a more traditional look. Compared to other Straw Hats, Nami undoubtedly wears the best outfits of the entire arc. Additionally, her Water 7 outfit gives her a professional air, which is perfect for the negotiations with the Galley-La Company for the purchase of a new ship and the Franky Family’s theft of their money.
16. Nami’s Arlong Park Outfit Reveals Her Tattoo
An important symbol of Nami's oppression under Arlong
Whenever a character joins the Straw Hat crew, it’s a significant moment in One Piece. Though she is the first pirate to appear in the series, Nami doesn't officially join Luffy’s crew until the Arlong Park arc. Here, fans learn about Nami's past, placing her at the forefront of the arc.
Given Nami’s importance in the arc, it was essential that she wore an outfit befitting the significance of Arlong Park. One Piece achieves this by dressing Nami in a lovely green top, which creates a warm connection to the arc and the events of her childhood. Additionally, Nami’s sleeveless outfit reveals her Arlong tattoo for the first time, adding even more significance to the look.
15. Nami’s Post-War Outfit Reveals Her True Feelings at the Time
The text on her shirt hints at Nami’s tumultuous emotions
While the Straw Hat Pirates rarely face major internal conflicts, their navigator, Nami, sometimes displays a certain grimace, especially when a debt is involved. Her fondness for material possessions has caused her countless troubles due to her crewmates’ reckless behavior. This tendency is humorously reflected in the outfit she wears during the post-war arc of One Piece, earning it the 15th spot.
Transported out of the Sabaody Archipelago, Nami arrives at an artificial island populated by researchers studying weather patterns. She wears a blue top with the word “moody” written on it, immediately setting the tone for her time on the One Piece island over the next two years. While a bit too on-the-nose, the top perfectly conveys her feelings about Ace’s death and showcases her talent for manipulation, expressing emotions that help her gain the trust of Weatheria's inhabitants.
14. Nami Seems at Ease After the Stressful Events of Skypiea
Nami can relax and have fun at her leisure
Nami doesn’t have many casual looks in One Piece, but one of the rare ones appears at the end of the Skypiea arc. After understandably being scared while trying to survive in the jungle and escape Eneru’s cruelty, Nami finally gets a well-deserved break. To fully enjoy her ability to relax, Nami dons a blue sweatshirt and brown pants. These are even comfortable enough for her to sleep in.
Nami's comfortable outfit in Skypiea is also the one she wears when she and Luffy steal treasures together. After her remarkable actions in helping Luffy defeat Eneru, they manage to pull off a stealthy heist, or at least as stealthy as the Straw Hats can be. Before that, Nami enjoys her casual outfit to celebrate with the Shandians the reclaiming of their lands. This moment perfectly illustrates the laid-back yet adventurous vibe of the outfit, which fits seamlessly with the arc's atmosphere and the characters' playful nature.
13. Nami's Raid Suit is vibrant and matches her hair
Nami is both beautiful and deadly in the Germa suit
The Vinsmoke family plays a major role in the One Piece story due to their connection with Sanji, the Straw Hat Pirates' cook. However, their influence on the series is largely underestimated, thanks to the introduction of the Raid Suits, these stylish super-suits worn by the royal family of Germa Kingdom. These armors grant the wearer special powers such as super strength, invisibility, or flight.
In Chapter 872 of the manga, author Eiichiro Oda created a special One Piece cover featuring all the Straw Hat Pirates in their versions of the Germa Raid Suits. Nami's orange version of the suit stands out particularly well compared to the others, and she is therefore highlighted in the center of the image. Her raid suit even matches her bright orange hair.
12. Nami dresses casually in a one-piece: the Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle
This comfortable look gives Nami another charming and laid-back style
As mentioned earlier, Nami is known for her greed. Not only are characters like Luffy and Zoro constantly indebted to her, especially before the time skip, but she is also influenced by the promise of money. She even quickly accepted Robin into the crew, despite the malicious actions of her older comrades, once the archaeologist mentioned treasure, much to Usopp and Zoro's dismay.
The shirt Nami wears in One Piece: The Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle is quite fitting. As soon as she hears about the promise of treasure from Roba, a woman rescued by the Straw Hats, she quickly becomes the most fervent supporter of her help. The trendy belt and the bright color combination of the pants and top make this one of her most interesting casual outfits.
11. Nami's outfits inspired by Wano add a Japanese touch
The colors of the outfit reflect Nami's personality
The Wano arc brought a distinctly Japanese touch to One Piece, moving away from the typical nautical atmosphere of the anime in favor of a nod to the author's native culture. Every Straw Hat pirate received new outfits to blend in with the island's population. Nami wore several similar outfits in this arc, including a charming red, Japanese-inspired outfit, with bright colors that reflected her dynamic personality.
While all these costume changes were well-received, Nami's is a particularly remarkable addition to the series. Nami's outfits throughout the Wano arc allude to Japanese culture, unlike most outfits in One Piece. With this outfit, Nami delivered an impressive fight against Ulti while remaining stylish.
10 Nami's Whole Cake Island outfit features a stylish backless dress
The outfit is perfect for the wedding Nami had planned to crash
While One Piece depicts a variety of atmospheres and cultures, the Straw Hat crew rarely encounters an environment that requires formal attire. However, the Straw Hats made a strong impression during their encounter with the Fire Tank Pirates, led by Capone "Gang" Bege, to discuss an alliance to defeat Big Mom. Nami kept her formal attire, as the wedding during the Whole Cake Island arc required the crew to dress up.
Given Nami's love for high fashion, it is no surprise that her outfit is arguably the most eye-catching of the entire sequence. Her backless turtleneck dress and tied-up hairstyle far outshine those of most other wedding guests, as well as the Straw Hats and the Fire Tank Pirates. Her elegance easily earns her the 10th spot.
9. Nami's Wano outfit is a calming blue
The brightness of the outfit complements Nami's joyful moments
Nami underwent several outfit changes during her stay in Wano, necessary to maintain different cover stories at various points in the series. For instance, she wore a blue kimono with an orange obi to infiltrate a building. This was to gather crucial information for the Straw Hat Pirates' mission to defeat Emperor Kaido alongside the Red Scabbards of Oden Kozuki.
This lovely blue kimono is adorned with a pretty white star pattern and matches Nami's blue tattoo perfectly. Furthermore, just like the red outfit Nami wears later in the same arc, this outfit is a nod to Oda's Japanese culture. She also wears her hair up, which is relatively rare in the post-time skip era. All these elements combined make this one of Nami's most beautiful outfits.
8. Nami looked like a cheerleader in her outfit from Water 7 Arc 3
Nami's look in Fun Water 7 contrasts with the events of the time
The Water 7 arc is filled with action-packed moments, especially when Luffy and Nami have to flee from the shipwrights of the Galley-La company. At that point, Nami is wearing a cute white skirt and a purple tank top. This perfectly matches the sunny sky and the pleasant breeze that characterized the island at the time. It also fits the laid-back vibe of the city's many waterways.
Though it probably wasn't Nami's intention, the number three also serves as a reminder that she was the third member to join the Straw Hat Pirates. So, every time she appears on screen, it's a pleasant reminder of her longevity within the crew. Given the severe damage done to the Vogue Merry, it's a bit bittersweet.
7. Nami's Enies Lobby outfit features a denim jacket and a cool skirt
This outfit highlights Nami's pirate nature
Fans consider the Enies Lobby arc to be one of the best in One Piece due to its impressive battles and memorable characters like Nico Robin and Usopp. However, one often underestimated aspect of the story is the excellent use of costumes. The Straw Hat Pirates' resistance against the World Government is well-represented by rebellious outfits, such as the denim jacket and short skirt set worn by Nami throughout most of the arc.
In general, Nami's outfits favor beauty over intimidation. However, in the case of Enies Lobby, the seasoned navigator looks more like a pirate than ever, perfectly complementing her new position against the World Government as she fights Kalifa. Thus, it is one of Nami's best outfits, not only for its overall elegance but also for its narrative consistency.
6. Nami's outfit in Zou National Treasure is an elegant purple dress
The dress has special significance for the people of Zou
Zou Island is special, even in One Piece. The inhabitants of Zou live on the back of a giant elephant named Zunesha, who roams the seas. The population of Zou is somewhat peculiar, with outdated customs and unusual habits related to Mink culture, and they place great importance on objects, like the purple dress worn by Nami.
Even if appearance were the only criterion for judging this dress, it makes sense that it would be so important to the people of Zou. Its lace and pearls are as breathtaking as those seen after the time skip, revealing Nami's elegant beauty as a prominent member of the Straw Hat crew. It also serves as a reminder that Nami's wardrobe is a clever mix of elegant dresses, fit for a dinner, and practical outfits for all her adventures.
5. Nami's raid outfit on Onigashima gives her a wonderfully devilish look
The balance between cute and bold is a glimpse into Nami's deadly side
Taking down one of the four powerful Emperors of One Piece and their crews is one of the hardest tasks in the world—a fact that the Straw Hat Pirates had to accept during their battle with Kaido, the Yonko residing in Wano. In order to infiltrate the ranks of the Beasts Pirates, Nami and her teammates donned the rival crew's outfits. This resulted in a remarkable visual shift for the series.
Nami's outfit fits surprisingly well with her character, combining her signature style with a hint of boldness that reflects her rise in power. This is particularly evident when she is seated on Franky's tank like a queen. Purple boas, armored shoulder pads, and devil horns rarely go well together, but against all odds, the red-haired Straw Hat pulls it off perfectly, ranking fifth on this list.
4. Nami's Whole Cake Island armor offers more protection than her usual clothes
This outfit was also worn in response to her fear of ants
Nami only briefly wore armor during the Whole Cake Island arc, but the mere fact that she wore it is worth mentioning. The most armored member of the Straw Hat crew is typically Franky, as he is made of metal and uses a mecha, rather than intentionally wearing protective material. Thus, Nami's armor is one of her most unique outfits.
The navigator donned her armor after fighting marine ants alongside the other Straw Hats, Carrot, and Pedro. She was generally afraid of insects, so she likely wore the armor afterward, in case more came. Additionally, she carried two spears on her back, an interesting choice since she had never been seen using one in the series. This is yet another reason why this distinctive outfit of Nami's is one of the best.
3. Nami's Whole Cake outfit matches the fairytale theme
The red and white outfit goes perfectly with the charming fairytale motif of Whole Cake Island in One Piece
Whole Cake is a fairytale nightmare, with trees and clouds singing cheerful tunes while keeping an eye on the island's activities. Nami's red and white outfit in the Whole Cake arc is perfectly suited for such an occasion, as it evokes childhood fairytales like Hansel and Gretel. This is particularly relevant when Nami meets Charlotte Brulee, who is depicted as a witch.
Nami's outfit fits perfectly with the island's theme, making it seem as though she has always lived there. It's also very cute. Her frilled shirt and red pinafore dress contribute greatly to the fairytale impression. Additionally, her hair is once again styled in pigtails, a rare return to the hairstyle she wore during the Skypiea arc, making this outfit choice particularly unique.
2. Nami's pre-time skip outfit is a simple yet iconic look
This is the outfit Nami wore most frequently in the East Blue saga
No matter how many costumes each One Piece character wears, they are closely tied to those they wore during their first appearance on screen. This is largely because characters were far less likely to change outfits before the time skip, especially in the East Blue saga. As evidenced by Nami's classic white and blue shirt and yellow skirt in the East Blue saga, Eiichiro Oda excels at carefully selecting outfits that match the characters' personalities.
Nami is still a young thief when fans first see her in this outfit, the third she wears in the anime. However, these clothes remain a recurring element of her appearance throughout the pre-time skip events of One Piece, even though she initially wore them as a thief and not a pirate. This creates a perfect link between her past actions and her new life with the Straw Hat Pirates.
1. Nami's Alabasta outfit is stunning
Moreover, it reflects her close bond with Vivi
One Piece rarely wastes viewers' time, which is why most of its arcs are filled with memorable moments and high-quality outfits. However, even with that in mind, the Alabasta arc is undoubtedly the highlight of the entire series. Every scene, plot point, character, and outfit is perfectly chosen, including one of the most beautiful outfits in shonen history: Nami's stunning desert dress. The kingdom of Alabasta is inspired by Egyptian culture, which is reflected in Nami's wardrobe for the second half of the arc.
The belly dancer charm and the Alabastian accessories further strengthen Nami's growing bond with the homeland of her friend, Princess Nefeltari Vivi, who almost joined the Straw Hat crew. Nami's outfit matched the story's theme while expressing her own identity. This comforting theme of Nami's Alabasta outfit makes it the ultimate Nami style. More than just elegant clothing, Nami's Alabasta outfit is a gesture of genuine friendship between heroic women, easily earning its place as the best outfit of the heroine in One Piece.
