Momoshiki Ôtsutsuki was a member of the main family of the Ôtsutsuki clan, investigating the whereabouts of Kaguya and his Divine Tree, then attempting to grow a new one from the Seventh Hokage's chakra. When Boruto Uzumaki struck the final blow and was about to kill him, Momoshiki placed a Kâma on him, allowing his spirit to remain intact through the mark.

Momoshiki and his subordinate, Kinshiki Ôtsutsuki, came from an unknown place, which also had its own Shinju, whose diet had been depleted. Like Kaguya Ôtsutsuki, they also wanted to collect all the chakra and create a new chakra fruit, which would give unlimited power, eternal youth and immortality to whoever ingested it. Fearing their arrival, Kaguya created the White Zetsu Army to protect herself from them should they attempt to steal her chakra.

Momoshiki was generally calm and calculating. However, he tended to display a sadistic streak, which was shown during the attack on Konoha, where he laughed after seeing the citizens in trouble while firing his elemental attacks. Momoshiki also had a severe superiority complex and had little regard for anyone other than himself, calling Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto and Sarada "inferior beings". Similarly, he cared very little for other people, even his own father. When he was in a difficult situation, he absorbed Kinshiki in order to gain more power for himself.
Like Boruto Uzumaki at the start of the film, Momoshiki was also indifferent to hard work, preferring to absorb and use the techniques of others instead of relying on his own personal strength. All effort disgusted Momoshiki, and he was even greatly irritated when his clothes were torn off during his last battle against his enemies. Because of his lazy personality, he was easy to intimidate when opponents who were powerful enough to pose a threat to him learned of his weakness and relied on taijutsu to fight him.
AppearanceMomoshiki was a pale-skinned man with pale blue hair, which he combed into a long ponytail. His hair was parted in the middle in a zigzag pattern, and his head was adorned with a pair of flat, curved horns that resembled bull's horns. Like the members of his clan, he had delicate facial features and his eyebrows were trimmed very short as a symbol of nobility. Possessing Byakugan, his eyes were pale white. When his dôjutsu was activated, veins appeared around his eyes. He wore a traditional nobleman's outfit consisting of a white kariginu hunting robe, baggy pants, a pair of tengu-geta and a single black glove on his left hand, with a hole cut into the palm for his Rinnegan, which was red in color (purple in some representations). He also wore a transparent hagoromo veil over his head. In the manga, the lining of his robes and his shin guards are brown, while in the anime, they are gold and gray.
Originally in the film, after absorbing Kinshiki, Momoshiki's appearance changed radically, including; black sclera, white irises, dark red skin, a pointed chin, fangs, claws on his hands and feet that were exposed, white hair, an enlarged ponytail that became much spikier, larger and sharper bull horns, white markings under his eyes and a massive increase in height. The Rinnegan on his palms turned purple and he awakened a third on his forehead. In the novel, he doesn't awaken a third eye, but by devouring the last of the pills he had created from Kinshiki, his skin turned from red to black, giving him the appearance of a black demon.
However, in the anime and manga, Momoshiki's appearance is radically different after absorbing Kinshiki. His body becomes supple and covered with radiant black markings that resemble sunbeam patterns, his horns enlarge and curl considerably, short claws grow on his fingers and toes, his canines extend and resemble fangs, and all his dôjutsu turn golden, including a third Rinnegan on his forehead. His hair was loose.
As a spirit, he appears barefoot, his hair flowing freely and his horns gray and splintered. After Boruto broke his own horn to break Momoshiki's control over him, Momoshiki's right horn was also broken, appearing shorter than the left.
SkillsMomoshiki was an extremely powerful being who, alongside Kinshiki, was considered almost as great a threat as Kaguya, the ancestor of chakra. He was capable of taking on several Kage simultaneously. After absorbing Kinshiki, he could rival in combat Sasuke Uchiwa and Naruto Uzumaki, both of whom used Hermit Rikudô's chakra. Momoshiki also possesses the power to levitate, as demonstrated when he attacked the Chûnin Examinations with Kinshiki.
Chakra and Physical FeatsLike the Ôtsutsuki, Momoshiki was gifted with extremely powerful chakra. He could also absorb any technique he encountered, as well as an opponent's chakra. Momoshiki possessed enormous strength, capable of sending Naruto crashing through a wall in a single blow. He could also move quickly to avoid enemy attacks. After absorbing Kinshiki's power, Momoshiki could fight both Naruto and Sasuke in hand-to-hand combat at the same time.
Byakugan
Momoshiki possesses Byakugan in each eye, granting him 360° vision (except for a blind spot at the first thoracic vertebra), X-ray vision and the ability to perceive the Chakra Circulatory System. Thanks to it, he could see Kurama's chakra, which was sealed inside Naruto. His Byakugan also enables him to glimpse a person's future.
RinneganMomoshiki wielded a pair of Rinnegan located in the palms of his hands, which he could use to absorb ninjutsu with his right and use the techniques mentioned with his left. Also with his right Rinnegan, he could transform a target into pills, which when ingested, guaranteed his youth and their chakra, increased his muscle tissue and could transform his entire body in the event he consumed Kinshiki chakra. Unlike other Rinnegan wielders, Momoshiki's were initially red instead of the usual light purple. However, after his transformation following the absorption of Kinshiki, the Rinnegan in Momoshiki's palms took on a red color and he obtained an additional golden Rinnegan on his forehead. He could also create black receptors, which he used both to fight and to throw at someone to impale them and restrict their movements.

Kinshiki informed Momoshiki that the rate of space torsion in Kaguya's universe exceeded 16; Momoshiki decided to leave for that world.
Arc Combat against MomoshikiMomoshiki attended the battle between Sasuke and Kinshiki at Kaguya Castle, and later faced and defeated Killer B. He attacked the Chûnin examinations to recover Kurama's chakra, locked inside Naruto. To fight Momoshiki, Boruto used jutsu with his scientific ninja tool; Momoshiki absorbed them. He was then attacked by Naruto, then immobilized by Shikamaru Nara, using Shadow Manipulation. Momoshiki then absorbed the shadows created by Shikamaru. Momoshiki then returned some of the jutsu previously absorbed to his opponents. Naruto, with Sasuke's help, managed to counter some of Momoshiki's attacks. Momoshiki managed to capture Naruto and absorb some of his chakra. Sasuke, the other Kage and Boruto came to Naruto's rescue. While Momoshiki was caught between Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto, Gaara and Darui, he told Boruto that he had a very interesting destiny; to get out of the predicament he was in, he drew Kinshiki to himself, transformed it into fruit and ate it, gaining considerably in power.
He then successively defeated Darui, Gaara, Chôjurô and Kurotsuchi. He then fought Naruto and Sasuke. Katasuke Tôno then arrived and decided to use a jutsu, created using a scientific ninja tool, to defeat Momoshiki; Momoshiki absorbed Katasuke's attack. Momoshiki then used Shadow Manipulation to temporarily prevent the Kage, Naruto and Sasuke from moving. Boruto then used the Invisible Swirling Orb against Momoshiki, succeeding in breaking the Shadow Manipulation. Boruto then created a new Whirling Orb, whose size and power Naruto increased. He succeeded in defeating Momoshiki with this Whirling Orb. After Momoshiki's defeat, Momoshiki appeared in his mind, informing Boruto that one day, those blue eyes would dispossess him of everything.
Kawaki BowDuring the fight against Boro, Momoshiki took possession of Boruto. He created an immense Whirling Orb with which he defeated Boro. After Isshiki Ôtsutsuki's death, Momoshiki, having again taken possession of Boruto's body, pierced Sasuke's Rinnegan. He announced to Kawaki that the thawing of his Kâma was four-fifths complete, and that he could therefore be sacrificed to Jûbi so that a Divine Tree could grow. He then engaged Sasuke in combat. Sasuke used Amaterasu and Katon - Supreme Fireball. After using the Disappearing Swirling Orb to temporarily neutralize Sasuke, Momoshiki attacked Kawaki. Kawaki then burned himself, prompting Momoshiki to absorb the flames so as not to lose the individual he had planned to sacrifice to Jûbi. Momoshiki's absorption enabled Boruto to regain control of his body.
During the fight against Code, Momoshiki appeared in Boruto's mind and informed him of the ineffectiveness of the remedy given by Amado to stop the thawing of Kâma. Momoshiki then took possession of Boruto. Code then took Kawaki hostage and threatened to kill him. Momoshiki used the Whirling Ball to force Code to release Kawaki. Kawaki then attacked Momoshiki; Momoshiki neutralized him. Just as Momoshiki was about to break Kawaki's arm, the latter was saved by Naruto. Momoshiki then created a Giant Swirling Orb to kill Naruto; this orb was absorbed by Kawaki's recreated Kâma. Kawaki then fought Momoshiki. Just as Momoshiki was about to be crushed by a Disruptive Cube created by Kawaki, Naruto saved him. Boruto then managed to regain partial consciousness. To prevent Momoshiki from regaining control, Boruto then asked Kawaki to kill him. After Kawaki killed him, Momoshiki resurrected Boruto, using the unthawed Kâma to resurrect Boruto, preventing Momoshiki from being able to resurrect. Boruto then asked Momoshiki if when he had said that he would be dispossessed of everything, he was referring to the fact that he would die; Momoshiki replied that it wasn't about that, and that even he couldn't know the cause of his coming dispossession. Momoshiki later appeared in Boruto's mind; he told him again that he would lose everything, and added that he would be desperate, allowing him to take possession of his body. Momoshiki then discovered to his annoyance that his thoughts and Boruto's were mixed up. He informed Boruto that Shibai Ôtsutsuki had indeed existed, but told him that Ada's power to make others fall in love was not a Shinjutsu. Momoshiki later took possession of Boruto and allowed Kawaki to escape. Boruto then asked Momoshiki what was going to happen, and Momoshiki replied that it had already begun. Later, Momoshiki informed Boruto of the true nature of Ada's power and what had happened to her: from then on, Boruto's and Kawaki's places were reversed; for the others, Boruto had committed the same acts as Kawaki. As Boruto was attacked by Shikadai, Chôchô and Inojin, Momoshiki urged Boruto to let him take his place; Boruto refused. Momoshiki was stunned to discover that Sasuke had decided to help Boruto and told Boruto that he had lost so much. He then told Boruto to allow him to take possession of his body. Boruto again refused.
