Mash Burnedead is the main protagonist of the Mashle series. A first-year student at Easton Magic Academy and a member of the Adler dormitory, Mash was abandoned as a child because he lacked a magical mark, meaning he is unable to use magic.

Regro Burnedead took him in and raised him far from the big cities, hiding him from society while teaching him self-defense. Their peaceful life changed the day Mash went to town to buy cream puffs. Spotted by Brad Coleman because of his lack of a mark, the latter tracked Mash to his home and injured Regro. After an intense confrontation, Mash agreed to join the magic school to preserve their peace. This is how he set his goal of becoming a Divine Visionary.
Mash's Appearance
Mash is a young man with pale (slightly tanned) skin, of average height, with black bowl-cut hair and yellow eyes. A fake lightning-bolt-shaped magic mark, created by Brad Coleman, was visible on his left cheek (removed in chapter 162). Possessing a muscular build, he often displays a stoic and impassive expression.
Mash wears two main outfits:
- School Uniform: white shirt, black trousers, red tie, brown shoes, and a black cloak.
- Training Gear: a fitted black bodysuit with white shorts and, often, he is barefoot.
Mash's Personality
Mash is a kind and quiet boy, showing little emotion even in difficult situations. However, he becomes extremely angry when someone close to him is hurt.

Mash favors peaceful solutions, even when facing formidable opponents. Despite his incredible strength, he finds no pleasure in fighting.

- Wrist Weights: These limit his power, as his uncontrollable muscles can cause collateral damage.
- Cream Puffs: His favorite snack, which he always keeps with him.

Mash was born without a magic mark, but he compensates for this handicap with techniques based on his phenomenal muscular strength:

- Big Bang Dash: Running at inhuman speeds.

- Unlimited Physical Mode: By removing his weights, he deploys his maximum muscular power.

- Incommensurable Strength and Speed: Capable of blocking spells or "flying" thanks to the speed of his movements.
- Creation of Tornadoes and Flames: Uses his speed and force to manipulate air or generate heat.
- Incredible Endurance and Durability: He remains standing even after severe injuries.
Weaknesses
Mash excels in combat but is poor in academic subjects. Practical exams are his primary salvation. Despite sustained effort, he only achieves average scores.
