Appearance
Lim is a young man with messy black hair and a small goatee. During his first appearance, he wore a black tuxedo. During the Jeju Island raid, he wore brown armor, a brown hat, and wielded a light gold bow.
In the revised timeline, Lim doesn't appear to have changed much from the original. The only noticeable difference is that his hair has grown longer, reaching down to the middle of his back.
Personality
Lim seems to lack confidence in his abilities as a Hunter, as shown by his strong hope that the Japanese S-rank Hunters would go easy on him and his teammates during their 4v4 match. Nonetheless, he is happy to do his job when needed. Ironically, despite being wealthy, he seems a bit stingy, as he ordered his guild members to move Lee Minsung to the safest position during the Jeju Island raid due to his high value.
In the revised timeline, Tae-Gyu is more confident and assertive toward Minsung, visibly frustrated by his former master’s actions and working to prevent the Korean Hunter Association from arresting his vice-guild master. However, he clearly values his friendship with Minsung, as he neither wanted to kill him nor severely injure the former human.

History
At the time Lim founded the Fiend Guild, it was the most powerful guild in South Korea. However, it lost that status when Baek Yoonho and several of his high-ranking subordinates left the Campaign Guild to form their own, which later became the White Tiger Guild.
Jeju Island Arc
Lim was present during the meeting between Korean and Japanese S-ranks and participated in a 4v4 battle between the two sides, facing Minoru Hoshino. Although Lim briefly managed to put Minoru on the defensive with his arrows, the latter quickly overpowered and eliminated him. When Goto Ryuji decided to spar with Sung Jinwoo, Lim watched in awe, stunned by their speed and unable to follow their movements.
Shortly before deployment on Jeju Island, Lim ordered his guildmates to place Minsung at the back of their formation, as he was considered an extremely expensive investment. Soon after, he and the other Korean S-ranks were airdropped onto Jeju Island to fulfill their mission: to kill the Ant Queen during the 4th Jeju Island raid.
Ragnarök
Tae-Gyu was Minsung’s driver and managed his affairs when he was a celebrity. When the Cataclysm struck the human world, Tae-Gyu awakened as an S-rank Hunter and asked Minsung to help him found the Reaper Guild. While Tae-Gyu managed field operations, Minsung funded and handled administrative tasks to stabilize and enhance the guild’s reputation.
Over time, Tae-Gyu gradually uncovered Minsung’s illegal activities and asked him to stop, but to no avail. During a raid in Southeast Asia, he called Minsung, urging him to cut ties with unknown criminals before hanging up. He later returned to South Korea and forced Minsung to comply with the Korean Hunter Association’s demand to shut down the Paju Field dungeon, claiming they were aware of his criminal dealings. He then received a call and went to the Association’s headquarters, where Tiel invited him to join her guild.

Alongside Choi Jong-In, the two shared a brief, friendly exchange before Tae-Gyu admitted he hadn’t realized how depraved his former vice-guild master had become. After witnessing the power of the transformed A-rank Hunter, he rushed to assist the participating Hunters but instead pursued the fleeing Minsung. He found Sung Suho battling the transformed Minsung and fired several warning shots, irritated that his opponents kept dodging. Ultimately, he decided to eliminate the mutated A-rank, briefly regretting the need for lethal force. However, he was distracted by a phantom soldier summoned by Suho, which caused him to lose track of his targets.
Abilities
Lim is the strongest ranger-type Hunter in Korea and excels in combat, even without his bow. However, he is more effective at long range and is heavily disadvantaged in close combat. Despite his rank, Lim is considered mediocre for an S-rank, as pointed out by Hanekawa, and is likely one of the weakest S-ranks in the world.
- Magic Arrows: Lim can instantly conjure up to five magical arrows. These powerful projectiles can damage the Korean Hunter arena and pierce the Ant Queen’s hide. He can also shoot them like regular arrows to enhance their speed.
- Archery: Lim is a skilled archer capable of hitting his enemies’ weak spots with precision.
- Enhanced Senses: Lim's senses are sharp enough to detect a shadow soldier materializing.
- Enhanced Speed: Lim is fast enough to chase Minsung and keep up with two high-level awakened beings.
- Enhanced Endurance: Lim is tough enough to withstand a blow from Hoshino.
