Laffitte "The Demon Sheriff" is the Navigator and Chief of Staff of the Blackbeard Pirates. Following the timeskip, he has ascended to the position of Captain of the Fifth Ship within the crew.

Appearance
Laffitte is an exceptionally tall and slender man, standing at 3.40 meters. He carries a fuchsia cane and wears a black top hat, an open shirt with cross patterns (which changes to polka dots after the timeskip), and purple overalls. His movements are often accompanied by the sound of his tap-dance shoes, reflecting his performative and theatrical nature.
His pale skin is contrasted by bright red lipstick. Laffitte’s eyes are wide and owl-like, giving him an eerie, unnerving presence. After the timeskip, he added a feathered cape to his ensemble, further enhancing his flamboyant yet sinister look.

Originally a peace officer in West Blue, Laffitte was exiled for his excessive violence and cruelty. Despite his dark past, he maintains a calm, polite, and constantly smiling demeanor. He is highly eloquent, though his words often carry veiled threats—such as when he casually threatened to kill Avalo Pizarro for questioning Blackbeard's leadership.
Laffitte is intensely loyal to Blackbeard’s vision of fate and dreams. He prefers stealth and manipulation over direct confrontation, often seen observing battles from the sidelines with a mocking grin. His unique laugh, "Hohohohohoho...", perfectly fits his theatrical personality.

Navigation and Stealth
As the crew's navigator, Laffitte possesses the skill to guide the fleet through the treacherous New World. His stealth capabilities are legendary; he famously infiltrated a meeting of the Seven Warlords and high-ranking Marines at Mary Geoise without being detected by anyone until he chose to reveal himself.
Hypnosis and Flight
Laffitte has demonstrated the ability to sprout wings and fly, though it is currently unknown if this is a Devil Fruit power or a unique racial trait. He is also a master of hypnosis, having successfully manipulated the Marine guards at the Gates of Justice during the Marineford Arc to allow the Blackbeard Pirates entry.

History
After being banished from West Blue, Laffitte joined Marshall D. Teach. He was instrumental in the downfall of the Drum Kingdom and the recruitment of the Level 6 prisoners from Impel Down. He played a key role in the murder of Whitebeard and has since been a primary architect of Blackbeard's rise to the position of Emperor (Yonko).
