Kurokawa Izana

Izana Kurokawa was the former eighth leader of the Black Dragons and former head of the Tenjiku. He is also one of the main antagonists of the Tenjiku Arc.

Appearance

Izana is of medium height, with large violet eyes and a tanned complexion due to the fact that he is half Filipino. His bleached-blond hair, styled in a center-parted style, almost appears to be white. As leader of the Tenjiku, Izana wears the red coat version of the Tenjiku uniform, as well as earrings derived from the hanafuda.

Personality

Izana had the chance to be the compassionate big brother he was when he left Emma Sano, but because of his years of loneliness, he has become ruthless and cruel. Not only has he become mentally unstable, but he yearns for absolute power because he was powerless as a child and now hates his "siblings".

Although he desperately needs a family, he treats his subordinates like tools and rules over them like a tyrant. He despises others and makes them understand that he despises them, whether friend or foe.

Skills and competencies

Izana Kurokawa is the leader of the Tenjiku, which means he has command of all his subordinates. He is shown to be the strongest member of his entire gang and to be able to stand up to Manjiro Sano, but he was overpowered shortly afterwards.

According to the former captain of the Toman's fifth division, Yasuhiro Muto, Izana is not only a skilled fighter, but what makes him the strongest of the Tenjiku is that he can anticipate every move, as when he read his opponent's movements with relative ease and was therefore able to counter them.

History
Flashback

Izana thinks he's Shinichiro's younger half-brother, whom he admires and often writes letters to, and Emma's older brother, whom he left when she was 3. Izana feels disgust and jealousy towards his "younger half-brother" Manjiro, because Shinichiro gave the gang to Mikey instead of him. Shinichiro was the first person he had felt part of a family with since he was a small child, but he often talked about Mikey, which displeased Izana. After Shin's death, there was no one to keep him on the straight and narrow.

Being alone made him sensitive to betrayal. He created the Tenjiku, which he led with a firm hand while being manipulated by his subordinate.

It was on his orders that Tetta Kisaki murdered Emma, and later, after the fight with Mikey and the fall of the Tenjiku, Izana was killed by Kisaki's weapon while protecting Hitto Kakucho. Izana then explains that he is not the brother of the Sano siblings. He finally accepts that he is not alone, thanks to Kakucho, and accepts defeat in his final moments.
