Personality
Himmel was a laid-back and kind-hearted man who easily connected with others and formed strong bonds. His unwavering dedication to protecting others—his primary motivation for becoming a hero—and his tireless efforts to help people left a lasting impression on his companions, inspiring them to follow in his footsteps of kindness and compassion. His charisma also influenced those he helped, leading them to revere and honor him even long after his death.

Although known for his heroism, Himmel had a slightly boastful side. He playfully declared himself handsome and took great care of his appearance, even in old age. He frequently accepted commissions for statues of himself and made the sculptors’ jobs difficult by constantly changing poses during the process.
Appearance
Himmel was a man with blue hair and a beauty mark near his left eye. His eyes were light blue. He claimed to be handsome and maintained his appearance meticulously.
He wore a long beige cape that reached down to his ankles, a fitted blue tunic, white pants, and black boots. Around his waist, he wore a white belt that contrasted with the blue fabric of his tunic. This belt held a replica of the Hero’s Sword, sheathed in a white scabbard.
Other Outfits
As a child, Himmel wore a simple tunic.
With age, he changed from a rather tall man to a smaller, stooped figure—shorter even than Frieren, who is already quite short. He became bald and grew a thick beard and mustache. He wore a long shirt tied at the waist with a brown ribbon and a blue coat. For mobility, he used a thick, straight walking stick.
Replica of the Hero’s Sword
As a young man, Himmel received a replica of the Hero’s Sword after saving a traveling merchant near his hometown. He attempted to replace it with the original sword, which was stuck in a rock at a shrine near the Village of the Sword, but he failed to pull it out. However, people across the continent spread the tale that Himmel's sword was actually the real Hero’s Sword. This replica remained his lifelong companion, and he appeared to have been buried with it.
Journal
Himmel recorded important events from his travels with the Hero Party in a journal. These memoirs were lost on an island in Lake Korridor, but they were later found and recovered by Frieren’s group. Frieren eventually took possession of them.
Abilities
Himmel was a swordsman with incredible speed and sharp instincts. Even though the sword he wielded was merely a replica, his abilities allowed him to face powerful enemies and ultimately defeat the Demon King. As the leader of the Hero Party, he was also a skilled tactician.
Himmel was also more intelligent and perceptive than he let on; although not a mage himself, he sensed that Frieren was more powerful than any other mage he had encountered, despite Heiter supposedly having five times more mana than her when they first met.
Swordsmanship:
Himmel could unleash attacks that struck enemies with exceptional force and speed, leaving a trail of light behind them.
Superhuman Speed:
When the Hero Party encountered a young demon in a village who had taken a human girl hostage, Himmel moved with inhuman speed. He struck a powerful blow with his sword before the demon could react and rescued the girl from its clutches.
Heightened Senses:
While under the illusion spell cast by Grausam, Himmel was the only one in the group who realized they were in an illusion thanks to his keen senses. He managed to move his body in the waking world to strike at Grausam, landing blows and defending himself by tracking the demon’s breathing and movements.
