The Evolution of Falco Grice

Throughout his story, Falco underwent a great evolution and became one of the fan-favorite warriors in the entire series. Here are his ten best quotes from the manga.

10. "The clearest memory is that of flying above the clouds, and I feel like it's something I can do too."

Falco was a very unique Titan Shifter. Although he inherited the Jaw Titan from Porco, he also carried Zeke's spinal fluid within him, which gave him characteristics specific to the Beast Titan's heirs.

He gained a memory from a previous Beast Titan that allowed him to understand his Titan could fly, unlike the other Nine Titans of that era. Along with Gabi and Annie, they decided to help their friends fight the Rumbling by utilizing Falco's greatest ability.

9. "Hey, you. It's dangerous here. Go fly somewhere far from here. You have wings. Use them."

Falco was first introduced during the war between Marley and the Mid-East Allied Forces. He was lying on the ground, looking up at a bird flying above him.

He spoke these words before his brother, Colt, saved him. Although it seemed trivial at the time, this quote was one of the ways to foreshadow that Falco would eventually gain the power of flight.

8. "That letter I delivered for you! Where did it go? You told me it was meant for your family!"

In order to attack Marley, inherit the War Hammer Titan, and bring Zeke to Paradis, Eren disguised himself as a hospital patient named Kruger and befriended Falco.

He had the young warrior candidate deliver a letter, which was actually sent to the Survey Corps. When Falco discovered Eren's true identity, he was shocked and devastated, feeling betrayed by someone he admired.

7. "I heard you talking to yourself last night. Sasha, isn't that the name of one of your comrades? The girl Gabi shot in the airship?"

Once Falco inherited the Jaw Titan, Connie saw this as the perfect opportunity to save his mother, whom Zeke had turned into a Titan years before. He tricked Falco into coming to his village, planning to feed him to his mother so she could devour his Titan.

Fortunately, Falco realized Connie's intentions, and thanks to Armin's intervention, they avoided the worst. Armin convinced Connie that his mother would never have wanted that.

Falco's Heroic Story

Falco's arc in Attack on Titan explores both his personal evolution and his crucial role in the final battles. His complex relationship with Gabi, his moral dilemmas, and his desire to protect those he loves make him a central character in the series' final moments.

6. "She's famous here in this district. She was even recognized for what she did during the war."

While Eren pretended to be friends with Falco, the young warrior confided his desire to become the Armored Titan instead of Gabi, revealing his feelings for her. However, even though Gabi had fought more than Falco at the start of their story, he caught up and played a crucial role in Eren's defeat, notably by saving his comrades.

5. "Sir, I'm going to call for help! Not everyone out there is an enemy. There's me, there's Gabi, we're all on your side."

Falco discovered Eren's true identity when he brought Reiner to him. After Eren transformed and attacked Marley, Reiner protected Falco but lost his will to live, sinking into depression after realizing he had killed thousands of innocent people on Paradis.

Fortunately, Falco was one of the reasons Reiner found the strength to keep fighting, alongside Gabi.

4. "I am finishing my mission and Colt's as well."

At the end of the series, Falco was reunited with his parents. However, their reunion was short-lived, as he, the other Titan Shifters, and the Ackermans had to fight Eren one last time.

Falco spoke these words to his parents before playing his part in saving the world.

3. "You only have two years left in your term."

After Gabi helped Marley defeat the Mid-East Allied Forces, her comrades cheered for her. However, Falco was not happy, as it meant Gabi's chances of inheriting the Armored Titan were increasing.

He shared his concerns with Reiner, who pretended to be angry with Falco and threatened to report him, even though he actually shared his point of view. Reiner encouraged Falco to work harder so that Marley would choose him over Gabi to become the next Armored Titan.

2. "All I know is that the incursion on Paradis four years ago was a reconnaissance mission to prepare for a large-scale attack."

When Gabi and Falco were brought to Paradis, they met Kaya. Although Gabi hated her, Falco tried to be kind to her, having begun to understand that the Eldians of Paradis were not the demons Marley had forced them to believe they were.

When Kaya asked why her mother had to die, this is what Falco told her. He tried to soothe her pain by explaining that her mother was an innocent victim of an unjust war.

1. "I contributed to the attack on Liberio."

Falco waited until Marley invaded Paradis to reveal everything to Gabi, including his feelings for her, as he expected to be transformed into a Titan. He confessed that he had fallen in love with her and had become a warrior candidate to prevent her from inheriting the Armored Titan. He wanted her to live a long life so they could get married and be happy together.

Falco, Gabi, and Colt tried to convince Zeke not to transform the Eldians who had drunk his spinal fluid, but Zeke refused. However, Falco inherited the Jaw Titan, saved the world, and was finally able to live his life alongside Gabi, Onyankopon, and Levi, with whom he also became friends.
