Emporio Ivankov, nicknamed Iva, "The Miracle-Maker" or "The Miracle-Maker", is one of the 5 Commanders of the Revolutionary Army and heads the G Army (Grand Line). He is also Queen of the Kingdom of Kamabakka. He's a powerful, charismatic transvestite who was imprisoned at Impel Down on level 5, then living in secret on level 5.5 of the prison (called "Newkama Land", or the "transvestite paradise"). He saved Monkey D. Luffy when the latter broke in to free his brother Portgas D. Ace and helped him escape. He was also a key figure in the Battle of Marineford. He is also a former slave of the Celestial Dragons.
He is very close to Luffy's father, Monkey D. Dragon, and is a true "goddess" for all Okama. Because of his demon fruit, the Horu Horu no Mi, he appears as both a man and a woman.

Appearance
Ivankov is a human, tall in stature, towering over even Crocodile and Jinbe. He has an abnormally large head, huge long eyelashes, an afro with blue/purple hair, and a noticeably strange chin that looks like an arrowhead. His afro is thick enough to fit people inside. He has a Jolly Roger tattooed just below his chest.
Like an Okama, he dresses in feminine clothes. His are reddish purple, with heavy make-up. To signal that he is Queen of Newcomer Land and Kedetrav, he wears a queen's crown superimposed on that of a king. His fishnet stockings, hairstyle, make-up and necklace are all attributes generally associated with a stereotypical representation of a Drag Queen. Using his estrogen Emporio on himself, he can become a tall, relatively slim woman. This form is more attractively proportioned (relatively speaking) than her male form, and is rather well endowed. Because his clothes are those he wears as Okama, this appearance is scantily clad. However, despite the changes brought on by hormones, he's still incredibly tall, at least twice, if not three times, the height of Impel Down officer Sadi. When Sanji first met Ivankov, he said she was exactly his type. He even bleeds from her nose when he sees her breasts, but is horrified when she becomes a man again thanks to her demon fruit. In various flashbacks in which he appears alongside Dragon, Iva is seen wearing a coat, as well as a sort of Hawaiian shirt, and without his crown.
In the anime, when Iva transforms into a woman, he keeps his male voice, unlike the other characters who are modified by his powers.
His bounty is unknown, but we do know that it must amount to more than Symbole Berry 100,000,000, since he was imprisoned on level 5 of Impel Down. It's safe to assume that the latter has certainly increased following the incidents at Impel Down and Marineford. What's more, when Kuma, as Pacifista PX-0, identifies Ivankov, he recognizes him from a photo showing him as a woman, suggesting that the photo on his wanted poster is of him as a woman.
When he was a slave, he wore a star-spangled suit and floral vest.
Personality
Being Okama, Ivankov is an effeminate man. He has a tendency to put "buru" at the end of a sentence and pronounces the words "Watashi" and "Anata" with a "va" at the beginning (vatashi and vanata). He also sometimes tends to proclaim the exact opposite of a statement he has just made, letting people believe it before correcting him. This is his sense of humor (as when he says he wouldn't mind being called a "big dung", before announcing that he wouldn't accept being called that). It's worth noting - not to be picky - that when someone uses an honorific suffix (-sama), a normal masculine suffix (-san) or a feminine suffix (-chan), it suits them just as well. Luffy calls him "Iva-chan", while his Okama subordinates call him "Ivan-san" or "Ivan-sama".

Following the Okama path, he values friendship and commitment above all else. He seems to find great motivation in helping his friends and subordinates, and is willing to put his life on the line for their good, as seen when he went into a rage against Kuma, seeing that the latter had attacked his "darlings".
He also believes that people should be what they want to be, whether that's a man, a woman or an Okama. He's very strong and very open, even perverse, about his ideals. He doesn't care about other people's objections to his actions; he even turned a man who tried to kill him into a woman because he had declared beforehand that he opposed Ivankov's morals (following this, the man turned woman was so embarrassed that he fled immediately afterwards). Ivankov also claims that, despite what people say about him, he's not a good Samaritan and doesn't help just anyone. However, he admits to being touched by Luffy's words of friendship and hope, and considers his life worth sparing.
He believes that "miracles" only come to those who never give up, that there are also people who choose not to rely on others for their lives, and feels that the latter are not worthy of saving. Afterwards, he always questions the people he has saved about their "will to live". What's more, he seems to be perceptive and able to diagnose a person's state of health by observing them for just a few moments. Ivankov is also able to estimate the "price" to be paid by those wishing to use the powers of his Demon Fruit. He's also very observant and quick to pick up on people, so he was able to guess that Dragon had family on East Blue when Dragon was with him on a balcony.

Like other characters in One Piece, Ivankov has his own style of laughing "Mmmfufufu!"
Skills and competencies
Ivankov is a very powerful being. Indeed, he is a commander of the revolutionary army, the strongest okama and the master of New kama kenpo (similar to Jinbe with his Amphibian Karate). He is also the leader of a powerful okama army. He says quietly that he'll escape from Impel Down when the revolutionaries overthrow the World Government. He can fight on equal terms with the privateer Bartholomew Kuma, and emerge unscathed from his pacifista beams, indicating superhuman endurance. He also possesses superhuman strength, whether male or female, as demonstrated by his battle with Sadi. His fighting style is based on his demon fruit and, above all, on the New Kama Kenpo, an improved version of Bon Clay's Kama kenpo (or travelo punch). His fighting style can also be described as rather "evaporative", as he spends half his time making gags, or even sometimes charging at his opponent, neglecting his defense a little.
Iva also seems to have a fairly advanced knowledge of medicine, being able to diagnose a person's health conditions by observing them for just a few moments. Iva is also able to estimate the "price" to be paid by those who resort to the powers of her Demon Fruit. What's more, Iva constantly wears a thick, thick layer of make-up that acts as a "helmet" and is capable of protecting him against Magellan's highly corrosive poison or Akainu's magma. However, this mask is for single use only!
Fruit of the Demon
Ivankov has eaten the Horu Horu no Mi or Hormone Fruit, a Paramecia-type Demon Fruit which allows him/her to inject any dose of any hormone. He/She can change a person's sex, accentuate growth (e.g.: make their head bigger...). It can even give extra energy. This kind of "doping" has side-effects and is extremely hard on the body, which is why he doesn't want to use it on his friend Inazuma. He can also use healing hormones, but these take away ten years of life expectancy, so are not to be taken lightly... This Paramecia-type ability enables him to use his fingertips, transformed into goads, to change gender, alleviate fatigue or heal. This ability is the main reason why Ivankov is nicknamed "The Miracle-Maker". He can also transform himself into a woman, a form in which he looks more "human" (his male form being coarse and "super deformed"), and also seems more skilful and powerful in close combat, but he has the ability to enlarge his head, a not inconsiderable asset as Ivankov's main weapon are his winks, thanks to which he can send shells flying back.
Newkama Kenpo
This is the style of which Ivankov is the master and which is used by the rest of his okamas. Similar to karate, New kama kenpo seems to be an improved version of Bon Clay's travelo punch (indeed, Iva's blows seem to be more powerful, although his size and musculature may be to blame). This technique was able to wound Magellan and knock out Sanji. Iva's various attacks are similar to Bon Clay's travelo punch, but are more focused on cosmetics and plastic surgery. Iva's most popular attack is the Death Wink, which consists of a wink that causes a powerful pink squall. It may look ridiculous but it's powerful, like the rest of New Kama Kenpo's techniques.

This technique is strong enough to cut through rock, but when Ivankov used it on Akainu, his "needles" (which he calls his fingernails) began to melt due to Akainu's magma.
- Newkama Kenpo: 44 no Aesthe Ogi - Shibo Kyuin Ken (animated only) (44 transcendental arcana of Newkama Kenpo - Lip-O-Suction): Ivankov spins around and runs headlong into his enemy's mouth to kiss him. The exact purpose of this technique is unknown, as it was stopped by Akainu.

Trivia
- Iva's appearance is largely inspired by Doctor Frank N. Furter, from the 1975 film The Rocky Horror. There are certain similarities between the two characters:
- One wears blue hair and black make-up, while the other wears blue make-up and black hair.
- Both wear thick pearl necklaces.
- They are both wearing garter belts and gloves, as well as a close-fitting outfit.
- Ivankov and Dr. Frank-N-Furter enter in the same way (they come from the end of the room to a stage and start singing).
- The fact that Ivankov calls those he likes his "candies", in the Japanese version, is a reference to a song from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". In the song "Sweet Travestite", Frank-N-Furter says "He thought you were the candy man".
