Appearance
In his first appearance, Benn has long black hair tied in a ponytail and is always seen with his rifle. Later in the series, his hair has turned grey, and he sports a large "X" shaped scar on his left temple. Benn is quite tall, standing a head above Shanks. His design remains one of the most iconic and stoic in the crew.
Personality
Benn Beckman is the composed, level-headed anchor of the crew. Unlike the more boisterous members, he acts with absolute sang-froid, much like Roronoa Zoro. Alongside Lucky Roux and Yasopp, he is Shanks' most trusted confidant. As the crew's strategist, he is often the first to analyze a situation or question the crew's next move. He understands Shanks better than anyone else, with the captain affectionately calling him "Beck."
He is known for his high intelligence and his popularity with women—a trait somewhat reminiscent of Sanji, though far more understated. For Benn, nothing is more relaxing than a quiet moment with a cigarette.
Abilities and Skills
According to Eiichiro Oda, Beckman possesses the highest IQ of any character introduced in the East Blue Saga. As the second-in-command to a Yonko, his strength is immense. During the Battle of Marineford, Admiral Kizaru famously halted his attack when Beckman held him at gunpoint, recognizing the threat he posed.
He is a master marksman who infuses his bullets with powerful Haki, allowing them to pierce through almost any defense. He also displayed his ruthless efficiency by taking the arm of the "Worst Generation" pirate, Eustass Kid, during a previous encounter.

Beckman is a highly skilled user of Observation Haki, allowing him to anticipate enemy movements and maintain his legendary composure in battle.
Armament Haki
He possesses advanced Armament Haki. By imbuing his rifle and bullets with this power, he can damage even Logia-type users, making him a nightmare for the Marines' top brass.
History
Benn Beckman has been by Shanks' side since the very beginning. During Luffy's childhood in Foosha Village, he was the one who explained the captain's tough love to the young boy. He later single-handedly wiped out Higuma's entire group of mountain bandits using only his rifle as a club, demonstrating that he doesn't even need to fire a shot to be deadly.
He played a pivotal role in ending the Marineford War and was recently seen near Elbaf, where he stood by as Shanks dismantled the Kid Pirates. While the rest of the crew was eager to see Luffy again near Wano, Beckman remained focused on the broader goal: the claim for the One Piece.
