⛩ The story of One Piece takes place in an ocean world where pirates yearn for an era of freedom and adventure known as the "Golden Age of Piracy." This era was ushered in by the execution of Gol D. Roger, the legendary King of Pirates, in his hometown of Loguetown. As he drew his last breath, Roger announced to the world that he was free to seek out the treasure he had accumulated throughout his life, the famous One Piece.

Twenty-two years after Roger's execution, interest in the One Piece has waned. Many have given up on it, some even wonder if the treasure really exists. While pirates are still a threat to the world's inhabitants, the Navy has become more effective in countering their attacks on the four seas of the globe (East Blue, North Blue, West Blue, and South Blue).

Yet this brief change did not deter the crew of a young boy in a straw hat from bravely sailing the Grand Line in pursuit of the One Piece. Although the Straw Hat pirates frequently find themselves at odds with other pirates, they are considered dangerous individuals by the World Government and the Navy, who have put a price on their heads for their capture.
