⛩ Guts, known as "The Black Swordsman", is a former mercenary and trademark wanderer who travels the world in a constant internal struggle between pursuing his own ends and maintaining his attachments to those he holds dear.

As for his equipment, Guts fights with a gigantic sword called the Dragonslayer. It was forged by Godo, a legendary blacksmith who created the weapon for an ancient king wishing to slay a dragon. But the blade was so huge that no warrior in the kingdom was able to wield it.

Flora later gave him the Berserker armor that belonged to Skullknight. While this armor enables Guts to surpass human limits by no longer feeling fatigue, it is also extremely dangerous. It inflicts immense pain on its wearer and causes him to lose his mind.
