⛩ The 7 Deadly Sins were the most powerful Order of Sacred Knights in the Kingdom of Liones.

Each member of the group had been tried and found guilty of committing an "intimate sin" that was considered "unforgivable" in the eyes of the 5 Great Clans, their title attributed to the fundamental moral fault that had caused the crime. Although this seems clear, for most of them, extenuating circumstances were in play.

After being accused of murdering the Grand Master General of the Sacred Knights, Zaratras, their Order was indefinitely dissolved, and they were branded traitors and criminals. Along with a number of other characters, they are the main protagonists of the series.

Unbeknownst to most of its members, The 7 Deadly Sins were formed with the explicit aim of defeating the Ten Commandments of the Demon Clan. King Bartra had foreseen, in one of his visions, that they would become the protectors of Britannia. Meliodas and Merlin, who already knew they would be part of the group, took it upon themselves to find the other five members, in order to crush the Ten Commandments if they were to be freed from the Casket of Eternal Darkness.
