⛩ Guts known as "The Black Swordsman" , is a former mercenary and branded wanderer who roams the world in a constant internal struggle between pursuing his own ends and maintaining his attachments to those dear to him.

Regarding his equipment, Guts fights with a gigantic sword called the Dragonslayer. It was forged by Godo, a legendary blacksmith who created this weapon for an ancient king wishing to defeat a dragon. But the blade was so immense that no warrior in the kingdom could wield it.

Later, Flora offers him the Berserker armor, which belonged to the Skullknight. While this armor allows Guts to surpass human limits by no longer feeling fatigue, it is also very dangerous. It inflicts immense pain on its wearer and causes him to lose his sanity.
