He is the spiritual brother of both Monkey D. Luffy and Sabo. He was adopted by Monkey D. Garp at birth at Gol D.'s request. Roger, then raised by the Dadan family like Luffy. He was Commander of the Second Fleet of Whitebeard's Crew and ex-Captain of the Spade Pirate Crew, which was integrated into the first crew. He has only 3 years of piracy under his belt. Ace will go so far as to confront Admiral Akainu to protect Luffy during the Marineford Arc.
